How to add the model in Silent Hunter ? Which program exist to convert the 3D model ?

Thanks

I can import the 3D model into a single file .dat ?

I have tried to import the file Wilhelmshaven.dat with s3d to study it but it don't appears. It is not visible.

Whith the model of submarineand his component in s3d all is ok.

Thanks

All the harbour model nodes references are in the DAT file under Wilhelmshaven_harbour_Dummy
...
E_platform01
E_platform02
...
the models for itself are stored in data\Library\Harbor_kit.dat

Remember, a specific harbour is not one big model, all the port structures are separated into small models to reuse them for different locations

Yet creating an harbour through one and only big model is possible and required to get certain shapes (not to say easier than messing with port structures)...

But Seeadler is right all the same : in SH3's actual state you must create harbours putting big parts of concrete side by side.

It is not a must, one large model works also, but then you should play this mod only on a powerful PC:03: because the whole model must in fact be loaded into memory before it is rendered on the screen.

For the same, repetitive object, the object is loaded only once by the 3D engine, and then it's used again and again from memory as a shared object.

All right thanks !!! :yeah:
Now the last problem is to undestand how place (object positioning) the single small models to undestand where is it placed. S3D use only the coordinate ?

(I'm sorry for my English :O:).

Thist is the first attempt :

@ Seeadler : Oh, that's right, mate.
Tested that on SH4, personally I did not notice any FPS hit on this game.

@ Von Faust : Didn't know about that second north-western basin (8b) at Bordeaux...
Are you sure your map is accurate ?

Edit

Well, it may be a pre-war map or one showing the harbour before the bunker's construction. :hmm2:

Yes placing of each model is a little bit like a puzzle:-?
Ubisoft had announced on the SH3 website prior to the release that they are releasing the 3DSMax script to place the harbour objects but this announcement is not fullfilled until now.

I have created also some of the French harbours based on the original layout plans, but abandoned it to integrate them in Silent Hunter. Good luck for your work!
