View Full Version : GWX3 Rafael DSK GUI (updated)
UPDATED VERSION: July 15, 2010.
GWX 3.0 Rafael DSK GUI (updated).
Below some images. Now you have the option to play GWX 3.0 with BIG dials and a new bottom and side menu.
One thing I really missed a long time in SH3, was the ability to have precise and big dials for the main steering of the U-Boat.
http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/af281/datalogica/SilentHunter3/021.jpg
That main steering is the most important thing in a simulation, what genre ever, which were really to small, to inaccurate, to uncomfortable and really to "arcade looking" in my opinion.

The menu is a pop-in and pop-out type, all dials and TDC-dials are always on hand. Furthermore your navigation map has been changed too.
And there is much more ... just drag the rudder pointer to a new course.
See the bearing indicator (small texture) on top of your compass!

The binocular with hands:
Binocular with hands and bearing indicator because GWX has disabled it.
In my opinion that is no step backward in realism, because in real life you would have a 'feeling' in which direction you would look.
I don't have that feeling watching a screen and using my mouse.
Adjust precise speed and set course and know your bearing.

Thanks for your work.
At your service! :salute:
Enjoy the GUI mod!
Rafael :)
Great Mod, one question does anyone know how to zoom out with the map? I could only zoom in with the magnifying glass and not out. Used the scroll button on the mouse and it crashed. Hiding the dials is very good for the night vision. Thanks again for the mod
You only can scroll with the mouse at the navigation map, strange that you had a CTD?
Try this:
Open the command_en file and find block 71;
change to:
[Cmd71]
Name=Cam_zoom_out
Ctxt=1
Key0=0x09,c,"CTRL Tab"
Or use SetKeys: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1016 (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1016)
Also you can download the previous version here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1380&act=down). Slightly different but works perfectly.
Good Luck! :)

If it helps, easy enough to download the mod and just take the binoculars file from it to use elsewhere.

This gui is for resolution 1024x768
If it is to be used for another resolution, the binocular tga must be revised :salute:
Also on the menu.ini

Not always. :) I.e., with the 1366/768 gui I use I replaced the binocular file with the stock one and it works fine. Just swapped the .tga files.

In this particular mod the files "Binocular.tga" and "_BinocMap.tga" found in path data\menu\gui.
Copy\paste those into the same path as your install. May or may not work but worth a try.

In other topics, his opinions came out later too
Maybe it's in relation to the time zone ?
