Could someone make a mod for me extending the battery life on the subs by 2.5x please?
I just can't seem to figure it out for some reason...:damn:

Does anyone have any suggestions or anything for this? I've made changes to the submerged range and speed in the goblin editor for the subs .sim file, start a new game, but battery life and speeds do not change.
Any help would be appreciated.

I believe that I have seen values for that stuff in a .cfg file somewhere. ddrgn would know for sure how you can change it, send him a PM about it, I am sure he would be glad to help.

As I recall from SH4, range values can get a bit wonky depending on how you set em up. If increasing range alone won't help then try increasing the speed for the given range.

This is driving me insane. I can make changes to each subs .sim file for submerged range, speed, RPM, power, etc, in the goblin editor and none of it makes any difference in game. I can't even get it to CTD. :damn:

Yes but each range has a speed associated with it, for example, 80 miles at 4 kts submerged. Have you tried raising that speed value instead of maximum speed?
And if you're using JSGME you will need to disable and then re-enable your mod before you will see the changes.

Yeah, I swear I'm doing all the obvious stuff right lol. I change the submerged range and the speed which is listed under it, by tripling or doubling both or one or the other, but it makes no difference in game.
I can affect overall ship speed which works, but it only serves to drain the battery faster, as you would expect, because you are traveling faster.
I'm thinking there must be another variable somewhere that overrides the battery range. Might be the crew abilities, but the only thing I've found so far is the crew ability to increase overall speed.
Last time I had an issue like this modding SH3 or 4 was when I was working with the crew reporting maximum distance at current speed. As it turned out, Ubi had it listed under "time to turn". I would not be surprised if this turned out to be something like that. Maybe I should try editing the settings under "banana cream pie".....
