I logged in and was looking to the Forum in the SWCowboy Skins Section and no Skins available.

The last post was on Dec,9th,2009 by Capzap1970,that the Files were uploading to the Server,but until now,no skins were uploaded.

I access this site ONLY with MS Explorer. Chrome or Firefox request and request the user/pass.

Congratulations! In IE8, is very rare the site request the user/pass. In others browsers, it ever request the user/pass. I don´t know why...

Thanks Rowi for your kind words,but the only thing that cost me some money was the NAS from D-Link,the other thing is and was some research for SH3 Mods in the web over the years.


I'm glad that everyone is happy with this solution and it's no problem for me. :up:

I had some discussions about the Video- and Musicfiles with the Mods in the German Ubiforum,cause they tought,this were Copyright protected material,so they said,that i are not allowed to post the Link to the SH3 Mods longer in the Forum.

I copied these files to another place and deleted the video and musicfiles,cause these files were in the same folder as the SH3 Mods.

Then i created new users in the NAS and give them newer Networkaccess.

The user Maik is the only person with a password to have full access to the SH3 Mods on the FTP Server.

If anybody opens the Link to my FTP Server,then you need a Username & Password,to get access,both can be find in my Signature.:timeout:


So i apologise to you,that you had some troubles with the download,but you can try it again.

You can find the Mods in the various Modders folder,click on a folder with a Modders name and you will get to the Mods.

That's weird... the popup still comes up asking for username/password, but then I'm getting an "IE cannot display the webpage" error notice after logging in the usual way. Are you getting something similar?

Yesterday i had the same Problem,that was the reason why the windows explorer freezed,when i made a Mouse Klick on Volume 1 in the Windows Explorer.

I found out,the Nas had the same Problem as the Windows Explorer,it was freezed.

So i cutted the NAS from Energy and put it on again.

Now,it worked all fine by me

Until this Morning it was all ok,on Volume 2 all files are there,but not on Volume 1.I don't now,what happend,cause in Windows Eplorer i can see,i have 422 GB free from 457 GB,that means,there are Files on Volume 1,but no one can see them.

Hope the HDD on Volume 1 is not broken.I see what i can do about it.

I don't know what happend,but the SH3 Mods are now available on Volume 2,so use Volume 2 for the Link on the FTP Server.

I will change the Link in my Signature until something changing again.

This must something to do with the freeze,if one Raid works no more,the data on this raid will be rebuild to the other raid.

One thing wondering me,if i click on Volume 1 in windows explorer i see the data and folders that must be on Volume 2,and if i do the same thing with Volume 2 then i see SH3 Mods that should be on Volume 1.

SO REMEMBER TO USE VOLUME 2 IN THE LINK THIS TIME!!!

See the Post above yours for Username & Password,if you cannot login anyway,they're to many people on the Server for the same time,cause only 10 People allowed at the same time.

Another Tip is to use another Webbrowser for Login,cause same Browers may trouble with FTP Sites.

Today i bought a new NAS from Medion with Dual Core Processor and 2 TB HDD.

I will copy the SH3 Mods from one NAS to the another,but this can take a few days or one week.

There are no Mission Packs on the Server,only SH3 Mods and a few SH4 Ships converted to SH3.

Yes, connection problems are the rule rather than the exception on this ftp server unfortunately. :cry:

I agree with this,after i bought the new NAS wit integrated FTP Server i installed Filezilla on my Computer,so i can connect with the Server without Internet Explorer.


The only bad thing is,that the new FTP Server allows only 5 People at the same Time and sometimes when i will connect to the Server via Filezilla,i can not login,because 5 people are already on,so i tryed it the other day or on the weekend in the morning hours.

Few seconds ago,i tryed it by myself with IE9 to login and it works perferctly.The biggest Problem with the Server is,that only 5 people at the same time can login to Server.

I also give everybody the advise,to use a ftp client like Filezilla etc. for connecting with the server,cause some internet explorer make problems with login to the server.

I'm a little confused,cause the second line in message windows shows,that you are user number 2 of 5 allowed,which means you have connect to the Server,also line number 6 "You will be disconnected after 300 minutes of inactivity".


About the Usernames,admin and Maik are two Usernames,you should use one of them,and not both together.

And i don't know,why Filezilla not accept the Password.

I don't know why you have troubles with this,cause other users reported none of this problems.

If it's not to much work for you try to install a free FTP Client like Filezilla etc. and look if the Problems gone.

Well I finally after years of playing SH3-4 (we shall not discuss 5) I sat down with the new puter and did a multi-install of SH3-4 and followed the great instructions laid out in Living Silent Hunter. Everything worked but I desired more eye candy and many of the mods I had over the years of moving and such the CD-ROM's are MIA. Maiks site is easy to get to and download and I have yet to have a problem except the question of how many multi-SH3's can one have its like my straight and double edge razors and soaps and fountain pens serious cases of RAD, (razor addiction disorder, pen and now this) MAD Mod Addiction Disorder.... So Maik ever in Carmel -Monterey CA. round 1 on me...

Thanks for your kind words but nobody need to make a donation,cause i use an NAS (Network Attached System) with one 2TB HDD in it and the Manufacturer build the function of an FTP Server inside the NAS.

To get access to the Server is still easy,the important thing is,to find someone in the Internet,who can host the WAN IP from the ISP (Dynamic DNS).
I found NoIP.com to host my WAN IP and choosed a Name for the URL to get access to the Server from outside.

The NAS is connected via LAN Cable to my Router and have made Port Forwarding for Port 21.

"WBs WSM (GWX) mod v0.1.rar"
the question is that it is password protected...
Is that normal, or is there a possibility to get that password to try that mod?
I've tried to search for it - no luck.

Works fine here mate using Flashfxp and filezilla. Also get a connection using Firefox.

1. My SH3 archive have a size of 40 GB at current moment.

2. Do you mean a list of the Mods?,if so this would take to much time to write down all mods,cause there must be over 800 on my Server.
