Okay guys... I was about to tear my hair out yesterday as I have just gotten back into SH4 after 2 years and couldn't sink D%ck. I had RFB enabled and was having a blast but for some reason my eels simply were't leading the target.

This is old stuff to me. It's like riding a bike. I checked all my manual TDC procedures and I couldn't find what's wrong.

This morning I decided to test something... I set all the TDC procedures to manual and load up torpedo training ONE LAST TIME but this time... WITHOUT RFB enabled.

4 PERFECT HITS on that damn cruiser.

The only anomaly between having RFB enabled and not was that I get the estimated speed report of 11 knots without RFB and an estimated speed of 4 knots WITH RFB enabled.

As Adam says to Jamie after the engine was ripped out of the car - "Well there's your problem!"

Does RFB screw with the estimated speed function?!

Nope.

Check that you're acquiring proper range estimates with the stadimeter.

As close to 100% accuracy as I can be mate.

it definately sounds like you have reason to suspect your copy of RFB has changed something but i dont think its caused by RFB itself so try replacing RFB with a new download of RFB, maybe your old version has somehow been corrupted by another mod or mod soup at some point
