I know there have been posts about this in the past, but I thought I would resurrect the topic.

I have imported various ships from SH4 by just copying folders from SH4 to SH5 and creating a mission to call them up. I have a type IX waltzing around like a headless chicken (no conning tower - already mentioned in a previous thread), a sampan (went straight in, intact I think) and a type 34 destroyer. However, have noticed (at the moment) following things missing:-

Guns and reflections and of course various superstructure objects (such as conning towers).

Have checked out the .eqp file and ensured that paths point to existing objects etc. But doesn't appear to work.

Any pointers on which files I should edit, rename etc would be really useful. Have a little bit of time on my hands at the moment and need to keep Brain ticking over, so I thought I would delve a bit into this.

I also need to post a bit more to get rid of this avatar!!!

OK - who is playing in the World Cup? Subsim community has found something more interesting????????

Right - I now have the guns - used "Effective File Search" to find where the link in the eqp file went, and then copied that file into SH5. Any idea on reflections would be appreciated.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Yes, people are still working on it, but every extra hand helps. You never know what one person missed that another might stumble on. Folks are still doing things with SH3 that the experts four years ago were claiming to be impossible, so who knows?
