I could be wrong but I think it's just there for anyone who needs to replace a corrupted/missing/modded version of that one file in their GWX install without having to d/l the whole supermod again.

Enable it, and you'll get the GWX3.0 visible distance to the horizon - and sensors - back.

Yep, it was put there a week or so ago at the request of someone (whose name escapes me right now) who had done just what your describing.

This file is modeled so much that many people have a corrupted file in their install. It is ofter necessary to replace this file and start over.
I have sent this file to at least five people per request.
