View Full Version : Same sailor manning all the positions

I've noticed lately that the same 3D sailor (i.e. same face) seems to be manning all the non-officer positions.
For example;
when I'm on the bridge the watch crew except for the officer beside me is all the same guy, and
on the bridge the two guys sitting at the planes control wheels are the same character.

I'm using TMO 1.9 with RSRD and no other mods. Has anyone else noticed this. I know it was more random before so I'm not sure what's going on.

It's certainly not a showstopper just a bit of an immersion killer.

thanks,
tomoose

It picks a certain model according to which crewman is in a certain slot. There are a limitted number of models, so it's possible you've just got the same random model assigned to the crew who happen to be in the slots.

Try mixing the sailors about the slots and the models should change.

As you can see, it's the same character model for just about every position in the sub. The radar operator is the same character and the watchman on the lower bridge deck is the exact same character. I'll switch guys around once I RTB and see if there's any difference on the next patrol.

weird, never had that happen. My issue is since V1.5 the crew roster is limited.Used to you coudl start a career and get one crew, then start another and get basically an entirely different crew, they changed it for some idiotic reason, so say i start a career in 1941 and one in 1945, ill have the same officers, petty officers etc, it sucks. I've had the same XO so many times lol it sucks.Just an immersion thing.

If all these guys just happen to look like you, I'd say you were in...... The Twilight Zone. du du, du du, du du, du du.

You might as well be told, Battlestar Galactica didn't have the first Cylons. :ping:

haha, that's great. If I had that I'd go in and edit the names so that the names are all the same too. Might as well have fun with it if you can't fix it.

Funny you should mention that, Tanedin. Today I was looking thru my crew and found 2 guys in different departments with the same name, numbers and all. Clones? :hmmm: Some weird science going on here.

I started a thread on the very same subject a while ago.

It does ruin immersion and sadly i found no way to fix it! :(

I experienced this problem when playing stock, and with GFO. When I started playing RFB 2.0 the problem disappeared, and now my crew has a proper variety of faces. (They all speak with the same voice now... oh well.) So the answer must lie in something RFB does with the crew differently from stock, TMO, and GFO.

Try moving the crew around in the crew management window by changing there shift, you might find that works.
