Well at least I hope its a problem...
Figured just post to the main board instead of searching the million posts in that thread... :D
I have installed version 2.7 (downloading updated versions every week is tough since I only play maybe twice a week if that), and while the stadimeter fix is GREAT, I can't see a god dang thing at night.
This is cool though and closer to reality, especially when there is no moon, but it gets to the point where I have to get within 50 meters of my target. Not only that but if I hit my targets with deck gun rounds, there is not even any flash to signify a hit. Since I only play x2 a week, I can toss out making night attacks. Not that skilled to be making a map only attack.
Any way to get rid of, or scale back the night filter? :salute:

Make sure you're using the latest version of his mod, 2.9.1 currently. While there is a red night mask option, it's off by default.
The mod also doesn't change any effects like explosions or anything.

I don't do anything with environment. What's happening in your scopes and not being able to see is stock stuff. Have you tried turning your gamma up?

Yeah its odd...
Gamma was never changed - still in the middle. Cranking it up doesn't reveal targets - only increases contrast
Last week, I was hunted by some DDs and while there was no moon, DDs were practically invisible. Even with the search lights, you could never see the outline of the ship.
Another thing - its ubiquitous. Scopes, UZO, bridge. Its black as **it out there.
Another interesting thing I suppose, but may not not be a bug. When I'm on the bridge going at 11 knts in calm waters, the sea often looks as if its right on top of me, then goes down. Gives me some weird horizon effects. This might be some other mod I have.
Guess I'm heading for an uninstall of your mod.

What other mods are you using? The UI mod doesn't change any environmental aspects of the game, all this darkness and huge waves you're talking about, so something else must be at work.

I'd uninstall all mods except for the UIs mod and see if you still have problems :yep: I'd also update to newest version v2.9.1

Yup that did it.
Not sure what mod was conflicting, but I now can see ships at night.

OK I know what mod made my pitch black night
Environmental 2.0 mod...
Though now I'm using lighternight mod as well, so hopefully this helps.

thank you ! ...i looked for red mask and couldnt find it :up:
...the bad thing is, there is no red mask dimming the UI, i allready enabled this option... any idea ?

It should only trigger during the nighttime. Press Shift-B to bring up the chalkboard that lists when sunset it.
Glad to hear you got it working Fattysbox! W_Clear has patches for version 2.2 of that or you can download the fully patched, lighter nights file from here (http://www.filefront.com/16577617/Environment_MOD_2.2_LighterNights_by_W_clear.7z/).

its darker than my mind out there and very late also... but no luck with any red masks :hmmm:

that explains it, we realy need a redmask for the ui :D
