Has anyone else had this problem or is it indeed ment to happen at all??.
I joined the training academy missions and then when i started anti air training all hell breaks loose, never finished training yet keep getting sunk.
Funny, I always found that my AA crew is too strong and planes are too weak. Using GWX also. Don't know why there is so different behaviour.

In the stock game`s academy missions the planes just fly round and round without ever shooting at you, gwx gave them teeth!...You will be lucky to survive.

You have no problem mate. AA academy missions in GWX3.0 can be pretty hard sometimes(as in RL). Training makes you perfect.:arrgh!:

Hit flank speed and zig-zag like crazy - worked for me.

The good news is you don't have to do that one at all. GWX gives the full 1500 renown even if all you complete is Navigation training.
As for the stock version having planes "just flying around", real life was even worse. Anti-aircraft training usually consisted of one old biplane flying by very slowly, towing a target behind it. Gave no preparation for the real experience at all.

I C what U did there.
Whether tis nobler on the surface to suffer
The bombs and strafing of outrageous Tommies
Or "Alarm" to shout atop a sea of troubles
And by submerging flee them...

I learned this one as:
The boy stood on the burning deck
Eating peanuts by the peck.
His father called, he would not go
Because he loved those peanuts so.
My father used to quote it very solemnly and insisted it was his favorite poem. :D

Poor Steve is in the ICU
Because our poems stink: PU!
But Jimbo's his MD from hell
And I'm the nurse. He's SOL!

A Welshman who hails from Prestatyn
Has a wife who loves classical Latin.
He dresses, to please her,
As Julius Caesar
But he'd rather be General Patton.

There was a young lady named Bright
Who could travel much faster than light.
She set out one day
In a relative way
And returned the preceding night!

Unsolicited advice free and abundant:
So much of it there its often redundant.
When I was a lad and easily impressed:
I listened and nodded at the experts' behest.
Opinions they flaunted on a scale universal:
Expounding at length without forethought or rehearsal.
With style and emotion, each made a case:
Of factual content there was rarely a trace.
Middle age found me as the consummate cynic:
Quick to retort and given to mimic.
With the passage of time I relaxed my position:
Improvised wisdom doesn't require a logician.
In the twilight of life there is time for a chat:
I now render advice at the drop of a hat.
The young lord rode one day
and begged his wife to stay.
When after a year he did return
he had some time to mourn
for a boy had just been born.
