hello all.
pop along and played silent hunter 3 with GWX 3.0 after a while away, and halfway through a single mission some of my audio doesnt play any more???
when i click a speed/depth....i cant hear the captain speak, atleast inside the sub, outside is ok..
then i cant hear torpedoes and depth charges at all!!
am using gwx3.0 along with some mini mods mainly UBoat3.0
any ideas on how to get sound back? or has any one had this similar issue?

Sounds like a sound card setting. have you made any hardware changes lately? You can try changing the sound card setting by going to Control Panel and selecting "Sounds and Audio Devices". Go to the "Audio" tab and click the "Advanced" button under "Sound Playback". When the advanced audio window pops up select the 'Performance" tab, then see where the "Hardware accelleration" slider is set. I'f it's set at "Full" try sliding it backwards a bit to 'standard' or 'basic' and see if that clears up the sound problem.

tried what you recomended freind, but no better..
am wondering if its something to do with UBoat3.0 mod????
as the last time i played all sounds were working fine..and i find it strange that they work outside not inside..mmmm:hmmm:
mmm:hmmm:
i'll try deactivating all mods....see what that does...if that dont work, then its gotta be me system.

I recall having an occasional dropout in the dim dark past. I don't anymore and I haven't thought about it in a good long while. Do you use onboard sound or a sound card? I broke the speaker input on my computer and finally had to buy a sound card. I don't know if that was the problem. I also upgraded the graphics card not long after.
I don't know if either of those caused my problem or if they might be causing yours. Just thought I'd mention it.

only thing i can think off is when i tried getting me mic to work...had to play around with playback settings as my freinds said i sounded like a garbage can being crushed when talking via mic..
but thanks for posting dude,:salute:

I don't know how good your onboard sound is - some are better than others. All I can say is a cheap Soundblaster is less than $30, and mine made a huge difference in both performance and sound.

Agreed, I've paid the equivalent of $100 down to $22 and can't tell the difference in the sound quality.
