Hi chaps,
Thanks to soem help from Luca, here's something new for Super Turms v4.

Actually it's been a swine to do but I'm quite happy with the results.

No other requirements Reece apart from Anvart's Flag, Pennants and DF Antenna up/down which I think you allready have.

NHancer v2.57.
I'm not exactly sure about the release dat, I havfe the Radio Antenna up/down working but I'm hoping to get a new model for it and also the MG34s when the model is complete but shouldn't be too far away I hope.
I'm still testing and tweaking but should be nearly there.

There's an update that it has been reminding me of installing for a few days but i'm holding off until after I finish the mod. I'll have more time to test and tweak it then.

Hi chaps,
I made a new radio antenna model in Maya, probably not up to the standards of our expert modellers but I'm quite pleased for a first effort.
I've just got to add the lightmap (not shown here) when I get in from work. I've only got one more day and then my free Maya 30 day trial comes to an end and so does my work with anything 3D as there's no way that I can afford to buy :wah:it but it's been a lot of fun. :DL

I'll hopefully be able to post a small video later (youtube upload time permitting) showing it raising and lowering as well as the other new stuff for v4.

I think the cheapest version of Maya is about $1500.
Aces have you considered using Blender? (http://www.blender.org/) It's free, open source and has the features you'd need for making model like this. I use it myself for modelling on occassion.

Thanks for the tip on Blender, I'll have a look, i'm finding all this 3d stuff absolutely fascinating.
Today I've been working on a few things, i've added water reflections to the new radio antenna and flag masts and tweaked a few other things which I'll be testing tonight.

Top left : New mug in Command Room the coffee should slosh about during diving, surfacing, depth charges etc.
Bottom Left: I have added Testpilot's UZO in place of the one stored in the CT.
Top Right: Added a chief angineer "Johann" :DL to the engine room. Also shown optional blue texture for engine parts.
Bottom Right: Optionla texture to change cards and card box to "Skat" game.

Top Left : British NAFI issue captured Navy Cut cig packet.
Bottom Left : Tommi's pressurised 20cm ammo container.
Top Right: Ammo crates, binoculars and MG34.
Bottom Right : German wartime "Privat" cig packet.

New Turm emblems by Private Godfrey and Tarjak.
New objects on the bridge lightmapped by me with some new textures by me.

Only one suggestion...Any chance of an alternate skin for the engineer? He looks very formal for working in an engine room. Maybe something like pants and a stained t-shirt?

I couldn't do the t.shirt as that would entail remodelling but I did a "quick and dirty" excuse the pun :) and changed his clothes and dirty them (and him) up somewhat.

Wow, this is really coming along well, sorry i never got round to uploading that radio antenna for you, things have been a little hectic with a new job etc, but it looks like you did a damn good job on modelling it yourself anyway:up:
+ if youre looking to animate yuor crewmen you could concider using some mocap animations, i cant remember the site but a google search should turn up some good free mocap animations easily enough, youll just need an fbx importer plugin for maya (or blender etc) to import the sequence.
At one point during testing for the interiors i managed to get a looped breakdancing crewman which was funny as hell but not exactly great for a realistic sim.:doh:
++Nice job on changing the texture on that pack of cards in the crew quarters, at the time i looked everywhere for a scanned ww2 german pack but ended up using an american one that had "made in usa" printed on it, not exactly something that would be floating around a german sub!

Is he lightmapped? The only thing that looks missing is his shadow. Otherwise, he looks fantastic!

no he's not lightmapped because I don't know how to do lightmaps with blender yet and Maya is no more.
Like the ear trumpet idea but I think he'll be restricted to just rotating a bit.
