[REQ] Any modders want to assist your truely... (other subs)

I was thinking to starting to design some of the other subs for this game, since to me, it feels broken, only having the VIII series... But, I most certainly cannot do it alone, so I was hoping for assistance..

My idea is to first cover the IXs, with complete realistic interior, followed by the early subs...

That way we have some more toys to play with....

I would also like to try and add some reserves on the outside, since I believe most subs carried them.... and with that, loading animations.. As well as maybe some realism touchups to go around...

I was also thinking that it might be benifical to add some more 'states' like if a compartment floods out, then the doors stay closed, and you cannot reach the rear of the boat...

Maybe add in the ability to walk on deck(since I still cannot man the deck gun it seems.....)

Look for this ladder on the side of your conning tower to get down onto the deck and walk around or man the deck gun:

Well theres good news...Tomi does have a fully modeled Typ. II floating around somewhere

Once I tried using sh3 subs in sh5 to see if adding subs was as easy as that. It sure wasn't :hmmm:

I moved everything properly .. crossed my t's and dotted my i's, I was able to add them into a mission as a player unit with the mission editor, and was able to select them when your in game choosing what sub to take into a mission.

But once the mission fires up with a non sh5 sub selected CTD .. nothing I could try would get it to work. Here's hoping others have better luck.

You'd probably have to do alot and I mean ALOT of merging of files with GE.

I'm no Modder, but I assume you'd have to attach the interior files to the imported sub as well as all the animations, etc to the actual Sub Model.

Yea, it maybe work, but, hey, no work no gain....

I am going to have a poke at the Type II and Undine(see what the hell this is...)

But I am no scripter, so that would have to fall on someone else....

Maybe with these we can fix the issue of not being able to get on the con when decks awash, and with that, the ability to walk on decks in stormy weather(this seems to be an error on Ubi's part, since nobody in their right mind would get on deck in a storm...) and maybe even use the hatches on deck(these hatches should all be usable...I think...)

HMS Undine was the first of the U class subs - sometimes called the Undine class
U class subs were fairly effective esp in the med with HMS Upholder

She was commanded for her entire career by lieutenant-commander Malcolm David Wanklyn, and became the most successful British submarine of the Second World War. After a working up period, she left for Malta on 10 December 1940 and was attached to the 10th Submarine Flotilla based there. She completed 24 patrols, sinking around 120,000 tons of enemy shipping including the destroyer Libeccio after the Battle of the Duisburg Convoy, a cruiser, three U-boats (among which the Italian submarine Saint Bon), three troop transports, ten cargo ships, two tankers and a trawler. Wanklyn was awarded the Victoria Cross for a patrol in her in 1941 when he attacked a particularly well defended convoy and sank the 18,000 ton Italian liner SS Conte Rosso. She also damaged the Italian cruiser Giuseppe Garibaldi.49 built in 4 groups and also loaned out to serve with the Soviets,Dutch,Polish,Norwegian,Free French and Greek navies
So one class gave Ubi more options to fill rosters

I guess they could have added the 6 Gato from Subron 50 from Sept 42 to July 43
