Regretfully, my new Sony Vaio under Win7 is displaying everything in SH3 with a bit too much green. Since Sony has opted to not give any real options for adjusting display colors with their version of ATI Catalyst, I decided to create my own Environment Mod based on the Sh-5 Water Mod and adjust the colors in everything so they look good on my Vaio display.

After a few evenings of experimentation, I've got everything looking pretty good now except the surface of water at night...it looks too violet/purplish. I am trying to get my water at night looking very dark blue-aqua blue. I have adjusted the values for EnvColors[1][5] as follows:

SunLightColor= R:5, G:11, B:25
SunReflectColor= R:0, G:0, B:3 ------No Red value at all!
AmbientLightColor= R:0, G:1, B:5 -----No Red value at all!
WaterDarkColor= R:0, G:2, B:10 -----No Red value at all!
WaterLightColor= R:0, G:2, B:10 ------No Red value at all!

I also adjustd the reflex_atlantic.tga overall to be more blue and less green. As I have everything now, it solves almost all of the ungliness I had before, with the exception of my purple sea. :damn:

Any experienced environment modders with an idea of how I can fix this? How is the color on the water surface created (I'm assuming its influenced by a number of factors)?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

hi Sabretwo,

are you editing the envcolors_atl , skycolors_atl or envcolors_med , skycolors_med ?

becuase the game 'reads' only the ''_atl'' dats so just rename ''_med'' to ''_atl'' to see if it makes any difference

bye

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

It's showing my changes for sure. (I'm testing it in the Med.)

I'm going to try backing the green up incrementally and see if that neutralizes some of the red a bit.

This is very frustrating. MEP V3 and OLCE looked great on my old system. After I upgrade to the new Vaio and Win7, my game runs like a screamer (very fast frame rates even with some very heavy mods on top), but does so at the price of looking like complete ass at night! :cry:
