Contrary to what the title suggests, this is one mod not two.
Download link: http://www.filefront.com/16853587/Shaders.zip
The zip contains two shader files. To install the mod just replace the original shader files with these ones (remember to backup the two original files before you replace them).
This mod will:
- Change the bloom effect to something much more subtle and IMO more realistic-looking.
- Slightly change the "contrast" of the image (dark colours are no longer "crushed to black").
- Disable DOF.
I'll take some screenshots and post them here... sometime...

You have the first one ?
IF you haven't you might want too (for the Story), its cheap nowadays like ~10$ EA Value edition.

Personally I think it's the best game I've played in years. The first one was just okay, but this one is superb. Not perfect of course, but a lot closer than most ever get.
As Hunter says, it's better to play them both.

You haven't asked me but I have the game and finished it.
In one word: it's great.
I've head a lot a of fun playing it. If you played MA1 you will love this game.

I heard the second is better than the first. I'm playing fallout 3 and enjoy that type of game play. I understand this is similar.

Sort of. I was actually expecting something more along the lines of your average Knights of the Old Republic in terms of gameplay (combat especially), but when I discovered it wasn't turn-based (or something similar) combat I couldn't stop playing. And the combat is very well done, IMO.
Haven't gotten the 2nd game yet, hopefully it won't be too long until I do.

I watched 2 complete LPs of the game. (being that I havent had the money to buy it, been saveing up for PC upgrades) both didnt choose the same options. But even tho it was a lp, and I wasnt playing. I got sucked in by it, the story IMO is great, the charecters are also pretty good, I like how the game puts so much into the story/ Races. Even makeing a past history for them.:yep:
the download link doesnt work anymore, says the file is being processed or whatever ... i would really like that file, even tho i already passed the game a few times, im still hyped about it, the massive bloom disperse is just awful, lowering the Bloom_Scale in coalesced.ini doesnt quite do the job, also id like to keep depth of field, it masks my ugly low res textures, that i had to lower for more framerates <3 you also said that the shader file will actually increase fps a bit, so therefore im beggin ya! will you do it?
Welcome aboard!
@Chris
The 2nd one has better gameplay, much smoother all around. :yep:

Impressive mod, sir, it makes the game look better, more realistic believable, thus immersive. Did you sent Bioware your résumé yet?

After posting here I carried on working on the "mod" for a while before calling it finished for personal use. It's been finished for a while now, and I no longer have the version that I released here. You can have the finished version instead if you like, but keep in mind that the FPS boost I mentioned comes from the fact that DOF is disabled. If I were to put DOF back in then no more FPS boost.
The finished version of the mod has no DOF, and as I said you can have that if you want it. In fact I might as well upload it now and fix the dead links in the OP...
If you want a DOF version then I will make one for you but it might be a few days before I get around to it.

You'll be pleased to know that ME2 is much better "optimised" than ME1. It looks better and runs smoother. :yeah:

It's a very small download and a very simple installation. I will post shots in a few days as promised, but in the meantime if you have ME2 installed then you might as well just try it and see! ;)
