i dont know who has played sh3 but the user Jscones created an excellent companion to sh3 sh3 commander in which you would be able to have a backround for your captain and select what u boat number you had, ect, it also included the ability to randomize time in port give you a crew that isnt completly green, and many other things i think it wold be great to have something like that for sh4

If you have MS Access you can make a simple database for SH, very easy can have one up and running in 20min. Unlike SHCommander where everything is tracked for you, with the Access database you will have to input everything yourself.
I can keep track of every patrol and its details - tonnage, log, patrol area, objectives, what mod im running, etc.,
The one below I created for my SH patrols and named it ''Captains Database Log book'' :smug: lol. Access sits on my taskbar while playing SH for when the need arises to add info to the Captains log. Being a database it can work with SH5 or SH3, just have to make the odd adjustment. Thou 3 has SHCommander so why would you want to.

I don't suppose you'd be willing to share the template/dbase for others to use? It would save some time for those not familiar with setting up Access etc.

Yep sure, i'll just tidy it up abit, might add more tick boxes for the major mods as well compared to the ones i have already added. And will change the requirements on some boxes - 'set them to no' This way if a user doesn't fill in a box it wont bring up an error and complain that they missed one. The user can reset them to yes if needed once they get use to it.
Will put a link here for download when its ready.
