I find the current NAV Map to be severely lacking in detail and would love to see a NAV Map Make-Over (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1672) like the one Nbjackso (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/member.php?u=240496) did for SH4.

This is from SH4 and it looks 100 times better then the default MAP's that come in SH5.
Why can't we have progress when upgrading?

Looks great. Did that map have any problems?? i.e. running aground where there was no ground etc

None that I have encounterd as yet.
I did notice you do not want to enable that MOD during patrol as it will change some ojective from Complete to Incomplete.:hmmm:
I want to see far far more depth detail on Nav Map then is currently shown.

When you say detail, do you mean the mountain ranges and stuff on that map? Because, as a sub commander, I've never once looked at the land on a map seeing as I can't go there heh. :O:

As a sub commander, you should really be looking at a chart, not a map :O:.
The map gradients don't seem to work the same as in SH4, as my chart SH4 mods work-ish, but weirdly. The land gradients are different, I guess because of the enemy/neutral/friendly status they now show.

Hi:
Look to that ruler, pencil... good design, looks real, Sh5 have minimalist pixeled icons 2 color background

This should be done including the BDU charts with german markings and not latitudes...along with a mod to change the latitudes in orders and contact reports.

I just played SH4 last night with that "jumble of tools" thing from that screenshot, and it was a pain in the butt trying to switch tools. I was constantly picking up the wrong tool. Didn't add to gameplay or immersion at all for me.

I've never had problems selecting tools.

The tools are another issue on its own. The jimimadrids_Tools MOD adresses those and you may want to try that MOD.

The gradient map works the same way as in SH4, but for SH5 in addition, each country has still overlays (..\data\Terrain\LocationMaps) rendered and those provided with a texture color(..\data\Terrain\LocationMaps\ShapeTextures) . The map pixelshader interpolates now the gradient colors and the shape colors based on the provided height-map (..\data\Terrain\Maps\Map1)
