Single core fix?

Just curious if anyone has come up with a fix for us single core users, for whom the game plays otherwise great, except the explosions/waterspray, etc...its an old topic for sure, didnt know if anyone was still working on it before I save up for a new system (needed for sure but money tight) OR Is this a completely dead issue?

I think the single core issue is addressed in the second patch "Improvements on particle performance on single core processors"
I'm not sure if this is what you;re referring to but it is included.:salute:
