I'm becoming interested in getting into some basic game modding and now seems like the right time to take the plunge. Ive got some free time and SH5 looks like it could use all the help it can get.
Ive got some basic skills in Photoshop and Ive kicked around Autodesk Maya for a bit. Id like to try my hand at some basic stuff and hopefully learn as I go; perhaps one day I may produce a competent and useful mod to give back. Moreover from what Ive read, SH5 is very mod friendly, and seems like a good place to do some learning.
I'm trying to get some info on some good tutorials for newbs, good instructional threads and really, whatever can help me get some work started.
I feel like a mouse among real giants at this point, but what the hell, you gotta start somewhere.

Danke und Seig!

Ditto to every thing vonTorpitz said,

for better or worse I come from a Blender and Gimp back ground and can do 3d as well as graphics and textures. no clue if Blender will be of any use to me for tweaks and eventual mods but as least the concept of 3d isn't alien to me. so far I am having a lot of luck with Gimp working for the photo shop stuff so that is a "win" :)

Hi Vontorpitz I created a tutorial with the help of TheDarkWraith not so long ago that you may find usefull.
The thread is here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=165968
Like you I've just started into modding for SH5, and it gets addictive.
look forward to seeing your work in the not so distant future. ;)
