I received a PM today reminding me that the link to Fubars FF account no longer contained any of his excellent skins.

The poster reminded me that I had stated in the past that I had a fair number of them archived.....24 to be precise.

It is with the above in mind and at the request of the poster that I am going to post four links (each with 6 skins) on my FF account to ensure those who have yet to experience these masterful pieces of work should have the opportunity.

I can't imagine Fubar would object because they were all originally posted by him for the benefit of our community.

I just looked and see that we already have a large number of his skins. Go to the Downloads Search function and type in Fubar.

I found some very rare skins in your collection, and a few couldn't be located anywhere else. Most of the skins in Pt1 & Pt2 are highres version. Usually that can be seen at a glance by the size of the compressed file:
20+ Megabytes for hi res

Yes...provided for example, it is a skin for a Type VII and you have selected a Type VII ingame.

Yes I believe I made reference to four files/links in my first post.

That skin is also one of my favourites.....like so many others of his, his work being so high a standard :yep:

The community should have no problem accessing his past works now.

If you have any in addition why not post them here and we can all upgrade our collections :know:

Jims collection is great. The textures which I had (U-552 and the VIIB Winter) were also included in the last upload. Perhaps I'll make a list later on.

I can setup an ftp tho my upload is a little slow (512 kbps) , not sure if I'd be allowed up to SS downloads because of the same. The missing ones are mostly the VIIB skins and "plain" versions. Seems people archived mostly the camo versions. It would be cool if you could upload those, so that we have a mostly complete collection. I have surplus webspace so I could host them as well.

Regarding FTP. I would use Filezilla. http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/files/

It's very simple:

1. Enter: Host , Username , Password
2. Click Quickconnect
3. Use it like Explorer

I originally put up 24 and after GE and I tapped into Fubars files via ftp, GE released a further 8, so it looks like I've the remaining 7 not yet posted.....I'll get round to sorting out the missing ones as quickly as time permits :yep:

That would be great, because I looked at those after downloading and extracting them and wasn't sure about using them because of all the files in there that obviously weren't part of the skins I'm used to.

I'll extract the skins used in Fubars-Plain-Uboat-Skin-Pack during the weekend and u/l them again as per my original four packs.

Yes I extracted textures for SHIV conversion, but now that the files are available I guess people will figure out the rest themselves. Currently we are providing only the original files.

Also, I did not download or consider any low-res skins.I fixed a small mistake (added U-552 in Part 4):

I am a Type VIIB fanatic, and would love to have all of Fubar's high res skins for that type with out the need to download all of Pts. 3,4, & 5. In the future I intend to download all of his work, but for now my disk space is severely limited.

I received a PM today reminding me that the link to Fubars FF account no longer contained any of his excellent skins.

The poster reminded me that I had stated in the past that I had a fair number of them archived.....24 to be precise.

I'm downloading from the category/type list and the Type II A-D link is not working for me. I got the VIIB alright but type II just shows "no connection to server". Could you check if the link's working? Thanks a bunch mate!

One more thing, while installing couple of VIIB skins I get an error message from JSGM that certain files of Water stream and exhaust smoke mod might be altered. Is this normal? Should I just press yes anyway?

That shouldnt't prove catastrophic....try it and see.

The great thing about enabling mods via JSGME is that you can always revert back.
