View Full Version : More Accurate Conning Towers?

At the moment, I'm running a late '42 campaign commanding a Gar class sub.

One thing that rather puzzles :hmmm: me, is that the shears on the Gar conning tower look like those on a Gato conning tower:

USS Wahoo (this is near identical to the half cut Tambor/Gar CT):

Whereas the real Tambor/Gar class had a very different design:

USS Trout:

I know that the latter is a full conning tower, but it's at more-or-less the same angle as the Wahoo pic.

What I was wondering is if anyone has thought about altering the shears on the Tambor/Gar models to be more accurate?

The same applies to the conning tower on the Sargo's - the real ones were very different to what the game model has.

Perhaps it's a bit "anal-retentive" :03::D, but it would be nice if it could be done.
