View Full Version : WAC Animated Sub Pens Interior Start for GWX

GWX3.0 players will soon be able to start their patrols from within the animated sub pens located in various ports as already used in WAC.

Because of the kind permission afforded me by HanSolo I'll soon be releasing this mod.

The mod was initially intended for my own sole use and as such it has been tested with the following additional mods enabled.

Therefore I must stress it may only work if installed in the above order....those mods installed before are certainly not hindered by it in any way.

I would recommend anyone wanting to try out this mod should use the setup above.

The mod is completed and working 100% as intended, I just need to sort out a readme and one or two other odds and ends.

Never looked at the bridges tbh :hmmm:

I suppose if there's enough interest they'll be done...eventually.

Hi mate,

A quick question if I may. When I installed the mod I lost St. Naziare or rather I lost the harbour layout on the map and the harbour itself is missing.

I first un-installed The Animated Sub Pens mod and then installed your mod. Do I require another mod installed first?. Without the mod and with the Animated Sub Pens mod installed I get a start in sub pens in St. Nazaire and the harbour is also shown on the map. I'm running GWX3.

Edit, I think I've answered my own question and I require the St. Nazaire Willhelmaffen extra ships mod installed, strange as I had it previously installed but it isn't installed at present?!.

GWX 3 Wilhemshafen,St Naz,Schluese and xtra ships V5 & V6
and WAC4.1 SubPen_animated_18.02.2010
have both own harbor kits. they could not work together. i have a merged version in the link of my post before to merrie this both mods

Great stuff, still using GWX here, loved the detail and graphics of WAC, nice touch. Always thought a combination of WAC's graphics and GWX gameplay would be a real winner and a great supermod so to speak. Like this one. Every bit helps, thanks.

tbh it was never tested without the Schleuse mod so I can't honestly say :hmmm:

Look at the JSGME photo in #1 and put them in that order....starting with the Wilhelmshaven as the very first mod enabled then so on and so on before adding everything else I can see.

Confirmed. When I enable these mods according to Jimbuna instructions alone they work fine, but after I enable the rest of my mods - no joy - CTD pointed to kernel.dll again :\ So I think there might be incompatibilities somewehere else. The last time I had issues with kernel.dll was FM_DieselInterior room mod which I had to forget also because of CTD on win XP with 2 GB of ram. I suspect it can be something very similar again.

I fear you may be right...there is obviously a conflict with another third party mod.

That depends on where your "NavalBase" is located (in the "Campaign_LND.mis"). If you don't change this you will allways start at pier.

How do i go about changing it (other than using notepad)? I didn't notice anything in the mod file itself, ill go back and take a quick look though.

What else do you have activated?

You are using v6 of the wilhelmshaven & St.Nazaire Schluses mod?

As far as I know RtB v.7 has corrected\more bridges and stuff. I'm using v.7 here and depending on my flotillas home port I have no problem starting in pens. Where is your home base?

Edit: You might also try this version of WAC pens also;

WAC4.1 SubPen_animated_18.02.2010

There are no pens at Wilms, leastways not in '39. Now I come to think of it I can't say I've ever seen pens there. Not even later in the war, altohough I never seem to make it much past mid '41 :haha:

Oh ok. I'm still new to SH3 and GWX in general so i'm not sure whats modeled in in terms of historical accuracy and what isn't. I'll keep an eye on things as my career (hopefully) progresses and ill let you guys know. I appreciate the help/ investigations.

I may do this, but I also may disable the willhelmshaven mod, getting through those locks is really causing me a lot of trouble :oops:
