as far i remember, fist sh5 video showed bunches of Italian RM submarines here and there. is anybody thinking of a mod, a med campaign, some add.on?

i underst it's too early to say, but i'm eager to know. Italy had up to 122boats bf the war, and even if a good quarter of them was UTTERLY unusable/subject to an incredible amount of unwisdomness erc, still they tried. they tried a lot.
:salute:

It is a shame that SH5 has no Italian subs. However, as far as the Regia Marina goes as a whole.....have ya been in the Mediterranean.....they're there.....I seen em:ping:

i know its non-historic, but what about a transfer of a Type VII to the Italians?

mod the external skins, crew uniforms and a pizza in the galley. a sub flag would top it off, but hows that for a simple way to play them?

oh come on wasnt pizza invented in the USA? You need to put ravioli in the galley!

Are you serious...?

Btw i wish it could be possible maybe to import the GWX model for AI from SH3, but it would require a complete rework just for textures and maps.

Needless to say i'm the first to sign up for such a project...:yep: (textures)

I became curious about the Italian Submarine fleet when you mentioned it here so I did a bit of google:

I know it's not that much compared to the Germans, but still an important role in the Mediterranean sea. Worth a DLC ;)

i reckon itd be awesome to have an italian boat, i'd probably play it all the time. the good thing is atleast its on the same side as the stock game.

back in 43 there was an agreement to lend over some type VII-C to the Italians, with the germans willing to obtain some large class ( the much larger CALVI class, see pic) to turn them into "merchants".

Great picture, i love the streamlined hulls of the italian ocean-going submarines!

Drawback is, much more difficult in 3D modeling... :shifty:

I agree. Considering that Germany only sent a fraction of its boats into the Mediterranean, the Italian sub fleet really was a major contributor to the Axis naval war effort there.

I was thinking about mixing some sub parts from the presents as a start. Maybe Undine turret and a bigger TypII hull... you know frankensubs :D
