problems with patch 1.4b, can someone help?

hi,

i'm kind off a noob on patching and stuff but i wanted my SH3 to look more realistic etc.

now I wanted to instal the GWX expansion pack but i first must download the 1.4b patch.

my version is 1.0, when I downloaded it, I got this eror:
Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Menu\de_menu.txt: unknown version

can someone help me with this problem?

did you install any mods before patching to 1.4b?

if so it may have modified the file you mentioned, you'lll need CLEAN UNMODDED 1.0 to patch to 1.4b then install gwx.

If its def a 1.0 version - newer ones come patched to 1.4 - the delete the de_menu.txt
Only Ubi knows why this sometimes happens ( doubt they know or care now ) and usually with that file and then patch

You will most likely get warnings on all en and de txt files in Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Menu. You can delete them all as the 1.4 patch will replace them.

If it's a brand-new copy, it comes already patched.

As already stated a new disc will already be patched but if it's an old one you can get the latest patch from here:

Most likely you downloaded the wrong patch version. I receive that error if I try the EMEA version. If downloaded the EMEA patch try the US patch, or vice-versa.

I got my copy from an online british dealer and received the US version, so don't presume your version is the "logical" one. ;)
