View Full Version : To the modders...
Simply, I marvel to see the work done by modders. Every day, since the simulator was released, at least one mod has been posted. Each of the mods are a micro projects, and the accompanying information and the way they are presented, is awesome. Maybe soon we have a patch that ruined much of this work. But the moddders not care at all, they continually give us something new every day.
Many thanks to all of them.

Indeed, truly amazing. Without them, I would hazard a guess that this series would not be half as popular.

And as the Guys posting Mods here work away?
There are some really neat things being worked on
that patches won't affect.

I think its a pity that there is not a mite more info with regard to patches supposedly upcoming- i've had a quick Google and found nothing except links to the first patch.
Even a twitter comment from Ubi indicating a rough timeline would be something- patch for SH5 (say 1.2 whatever) in the pipeline for mid April, say.
That would be helpful I think, but whether that would have any impact on new mods coming through I don't know.
If the official patching is something we've all got to wait on until the mods can be integrated into "supermods" then it's almost a bloody nuisance as pretty much everything seems to be dealt with very efficiently on Subsim from the off.
The (most welcome) deluge of mods to virtually every aspect of the game has lifted it from its start as a no-hoper to something fantastic. Well, okay I'm going a bit far there, but I think everyone here has admiration for what has been achieved by the more talented peeps on Subsim.
It has got to the point where there is simply too much to choose from, and for the less tech savvy such as myself, you never are quite sure of what you may try without breaking something else...
Hmm...Winmerge :DL
A matter of time and patience I suppose, Ubi ran out of time and I don't have a lot of patience.
Still playing it though and liking what I see, and respect to the guys putting in all that hard work for everyone's benefit here.

I must say, I am frustrated with Ubi's financial people, cause you know they are the ones who set the deadline. The developers really laid the groundwork for the modders though, so you have to hand it to them. Anyway, a big salute to the modders:salute: you guys are working wonders, beyond what I think anyone thought possible.

Remember, there'd be no modders without developers, and most likely, there'd be no developers without modders!

To the Guys that do Modding?
Unless it's a really big patch?
They could care very little when it gets here.
They will just adapt the small Mods to suit if need be.
They Mod because they like Modding.
No patch will stop them!
And once the patches stop?
They will Mod some more!
Sooner or later you have the first so called Super Mod.
It all takes time!
Been there,
Done that!
