Imagine;

-SH3 immersion in wide screen environment.

-Fully animated interior (i.e. plus bow & stern torpedo rooms only, thanks to FM).

-Shadowed and historically accurate U-boats (ALL of them!).

-Reanimated Crew behaviour,

and...

-wolfpacks?

Imagine...

I actually had to google "anabiosis", to see just what the heck it meant, i knew there was a reason my english teacher dispaired of me!

"a revival or return to a living state after apparent death."

now i get it, and yes that would be very cool indeed!
Although i doubt cpt Lehmann and the team would want to start modding again, we might see a few of your wishes released by other modders.

GWX4 was planned for SHIV... and GWX is no more.

I have to ask a question. Perhaps it's an idiotic one as I know nothing about programming, but can the GWX team use the empty husk that SH5 is and transplant SH3 as a soul? We will have eye candy from SH5 and simulation from SH3.

How about getting crew back for GWX5?

By the time we could complete a GWX 5?
SH 6 would be out.
:-?
Then we'd have to start all over.

I'm not up to the job Thank You.

I think it's too early to start thinking about that.

And theres me thinking you liked a challenge
:har:

GWX was created after years of work
First TGW ( The Grey Wolves ) then the X for expansion added with the addition of the Eastern uboats and Black Sea
As well as a raft of other changes along the way to the atlantic and med

Ubis vision of the future is to release new versions of its top sellers on a short turn around
Whether the SH series falls into that group who can say
But a supermod needs time to be created and mature
If the next game version is out before you get to that point then the effort is wasted
ALA GWX4 with the announcement of SH5

I have no doubt that SH5 will undertake a massive overhaul in the coming year or so
If Ubi announce a SH6 within that time whats the point of creating a supermod such as GWX,WAC,NYGM or LSH
They have all taken a VERY long time to get where they are now and slowly bit by bit are finding there way into SH5

When I joined GWX was an honor and an adventure
Learned heaps along the way from very talented people who are more than team members
More like friends
But over 3 years of modding leaves you jaded
Hating the game and not playing it
Still play around with the mission editor but its on my terms and when I feel like it not to a deadline

So you will see parts of SH3 supermods popping up in SH5
Hansolo has already added Laboe and Moltenort
I am working on resupply - all the ships and uboats historic routes and sailings and was planning on an overhaul of the stock campaign
Privateer is dabbling in many things as he does :rotfl2:

Many many others are modding small parts all the time

Oh, I do! I do!
:D

But I take them on my terms now.
As you said,
No Dead Lines.

I like that.

Consider creating GWX "licensed" mods? Mods that you recommend and approve?

I too hoped for some kind of revival of GWX that brings the Mod to GWX3.1

But i had only the recent fixes in mind, that we could apply to the main mod.
A last big Fix pack!

The adding of recent super mods like FM_ interior and the like, should be everyones own choice!:know:

I guess depends on a lot of things
I personally believe if DLC is the way Ubi want to go you will see a Pacific addon for SH5
Files are still split into American and German as was SH4 - that maybe as most of the SH3 and 4 files are still ingame including all the US sub textures
That way users HAVE to buy SH5 before the addon
Double your money
No discs to produce etc

Have no doubt there will be another Pacific instalment
Unless they drop SH like a hot potato after the fiasco that was SH5 on release

We joked about an official approval 'stamp' awhile back.
Find that thread if you want to see some major whineing!

I am not a GWX team member. But through the years (5 now!) I FEEL part of this GW family. The continuation of the legasy (GWX3.1, 4.0, 5,0 you name it) it will be something bigger than Xpansion; it will be a great stand against the online-based DRM of Ubisoft's SH5 and the systematic "arcadeness" of everything around. Maybe I am a romantic freak but... I love this game!:salute:

Despite the obvious improvements and glaring removals
Not to mention the huge potential of SH5 I still have SH3 GWX installed and regulary take my type 9 out for a patrol

Not just nostalgia either
Has a grittier feel
More immersive

If one is serious about simulations SH 3 modded is the closest you can get to the Battle of the Atlantic.
The rpg element is the only thing SH 5 seems to have going for it, even that seems unfinished.
