Is it possible for our great modders to import the water effects on the periscope found in SH5 and place it into SH3 and or SH4?

Hi !

I donīt know SH5, but for SH3 there is a MOD with Name "Water on Lens" that, IIRC, doing the same in SH3 !

The water on lens mod was one of mine (unless theres another one out there with the same name).
The effect wasnt as cool as sh5s, it just cloned the periscope ripples so that when either the free camera or the conning deck camera broke the surface you got the ripply effects.

sh5 actually animates the drips running down the screen which i dont think can be replicated in sh3.


Couldnt find the original uploaded version so i remade it: http://www.filefront.com/15917601/WaterOnLens.7z

Enable it with jsgme, it also adds freemove to the conning deck cam.

Hopefully someone will figure a way to copy sh5s effects as i rather like them:up:

Would this "Water on Lens" be possible for the UZO View or or the Standard conning tower cam in bad weather??

This version i added it to the uzo too, the original version already has the effect present on the tower camera WaterOnLensUZOversion (http://www.filefront.com/15920643/WaterOnLens.7z)

Ive just been taking a look at the shv files and there seem to be multiple files, one for the drips that run down the screen and one for the little droplets... still no closer to getting them to work in sh3 though:nope:

SH3 does not use shader files from external FX files, all the shaders in SH3 are hard-coded, so you can't copy shader effects from SH5 or SH4 to SH3!

i guess its the other way round, we should try...

export the good things from sh3 to sh5!
