Hi all!
I like the new SH, even it`s a little bit buggy and the DRM thing isn`t the greatest invention of all time, but i really like the new Sim and i think here is big potential in this new Silent Hunter...just think of all those Modding Tools given to the hands of the community...i see big stuff comming up in the next couple of weeks and months....
Now back to topic.
Something i really miss is the abbility to set manually the Spread Angle of the Topredoesalve and this is something i can`t play without - so i just did a quick fix and put an old SalvoAngle Dial from an old Mod from my SH3 Times and it works nicely :) I know the Graphics aren`t that good and it`s not a nice dial at all but it is doing it`s job! And it does it very well.
So this mod is only for the "I-need-more-then-1-torpedoe-to-sink-a-damn-big-ship-guys" like me and for anybody else who think`s it could be usefull for him :)

I wrote that the numbers should be usually 170 in the UZO Block because that are the numbers which are in my Page UZO.ini, if someone has different numbers there, so just find the Block with the Compass part

Nice !
I am also interested in the lower right corner - the dials you have are over the multi use gauge/bar, and more importantly, the text box seems to be reolcated ( and out of the way of many other things that need that real estate ).
I also like the plain white text under the dials - for a red/green color blind person like me, it is far more readable than the orange on grey.
Could you share that as a mod, or point us to it if it is already out ?

I can`t upload a JSGM Ready .ini File for the relocation of the Messagesbar because there are already Mods out which wouldn`t combine with a modded ini...
BUT, to change the Position of this field is very easy and also the change of the Color of the Text what u mean is also an easy thing. I will explain it to u so u can do it by urself easily.
I repositioned my Messagesbar to te left bottom side of the 3 Dials which i used and tuned to my like from Old Style SH Controls (familiar 3 dials) for UI-Mod from TheDarkWraith (Cool Mod).
1. Save ur Page Default Hud.ini in ur data/menu/pages Folder
2. Find this block in the file:

and now easily edit the position by changing the last 2 lines:
Example from my version so the Messagefield is at the bottom left of the 3 Dials like u can see in the picture below:

Just copy and paste my 2 last line postet in the example and take a look if it fits in ur game, i mean the position of the messagefield. If not, u can easy change the last two numbers in the Zone= line
Example for Offset:
Zone= 349 50 315 50 0 1 0xA000000 1 -1 0xA2B0000 -1 1 -360 0
Just edit these two orange Numbers until the position ingame fits to u...
Or maybe my copied 2 lines are already good enough...
I hope i told that all right, if not so please correct me somebody, i am not really perfect with this Zone=Line...

The Second thing is the Font-Color of the Text under the 3 Dials.
1. Just save ur Page Layout.ini in the same folder: data/menu/pages.
2. Open it and go to this blocks and just delete the line in each of these blocks containing: Color=0xD26400FE
The Zone=line in my version may differ from yours, but u just look at those Color=lines and just delete them completely...
So the default color should be ingame FF (white).

That are the 3 Blocks to edit. U can even change the Font=4 to Number 5 (Font=5) and u will get a little more bigger Font which is more easy to read ingame if u have a big screen and its too small....

All Dials are gonna work this way, so u can built ur old TDC Pannel into the UZO or Peri like in the older SHs, that`s is what i have seen so far now while lurking through those new and old files...i already tried to implement the Bearing tool which u could use in the SHs before to set the Torpedoe running line u could see on the map, manually where ever u wanted. In SH5 is the problem that i could built it in, but it doesn`t work because the bearing of the Torpedoe is fixed or coupled to the view direction of ur Periscope. It rotates when u rotate the Periscope but u cannot manually put an course for the torpedoe if u know what i mean.

I mean this Bearing Dial here. It`s just the stand i am now what i know with a little bit testing...maybe theres a workaround to fix this. Needs maybe just time :) We will see. Otherwise nearly all old Dials are working in the new game...
So on, hope the small SpreadAngleDial will work properly...

Your instructions for the UZO page are flawed. The numbers of the items to paste are incorrect.
Luckily i notced it, and made the appropriate chagnes. If i hadn't done that there would be 4 duplicate entries.
Lastly, i noticed in the UZO.. you can't drag the needle around like you can in the normal scopes. You can only click on it once at a time.

Probably due to the installation version. And I saw np with his directions worked great and there is no duplicate additions.

Thanks Gutted, just went back in to my Page_UZO.ini file and noticed that I followed the instruction to the T and my numbers were wrong.

I found the example block at 166 instead of 170, so I changed it to 170, prepended the 166-169, then updated increments from the new 170 on. Works fine.
Just tried it and it works brilliantly.:D
I really hope you consider making a full TDC for us. Great work mate.

Thanks for uploading the Mod Neal and thanks for the thing with the "Installation Issue" because of the duplicated or "wrong" Block numbers.

This SpreadAngle Mod is just a QuickFix to get the possibility to set ur Spread Angle while firing a salve, nothing more at the moment.
Feel Free to edit, change or implement it. U can easily change the Graphics, the size and the Position where the Dial is shown on ur Screen.
I am sorry that i cannot do more at the moment because of the lack of time i have, i don`t even get to play and enjoy the game just because i have no time. I would love to built a TDC Mod how i did for SHIII or do it like in this Great TDC Video of SHIV...would be wonderfull to have something like that in SH5 again even now when u have those Great MenuEditor-Tool which saves a lot of work and plenty of Space on a Widescreen TFT on high resolution u could fill up all those empty space in the Attack Peri on the left side with such usefull stuff like the old TDC Dials for manually torpedoing...
All dials are still working and cloneable which are in the dials.cfg, and those are all the dials u need for an proper TDC.
How i said, i buildet the Baering Dial in and it didn`t work properly because of the locked torpedoeline to the actual view of ur direction in ur persicope.
Didn`t spent much time to find a solution for that and so i put it onside by now.
I am sure there will come a big TDC mod in the next time from some guys here, maybe from me if i find the time to do that which isn`t the case at the moment.
So for now i can just jope u enjoy this small mod and again, feel free to edit, change or implement it how ever u like it.
That`s all i can say at the moment, so sorry for that.

The computer takes complete control of the dials....they move as the computer computes the firing solution. Now just have to remove control (when we want control) and we should be golden.

Looks pretty good and u see it`s easy to built in again all those dials with the new Moddingtools...wish i had them in SH3 :)
I believe there should be a workaround in next time for this Computersteered TDC Dials...
There must be a way to unlock the automatic Dials and to set them manually like the Bearing Dial i tried to get run. It`s not the Problem to built them in, all dials are working, but to get them functional like before to set manual solutions and so on....

Make the TDC is a standalone mode please!!! I find myself not really using the SHIV style dials, so i reverted back to the slicker stock UI.
It's not so bad once you are comfortable with it.

there's much to do before that will even be realized. Getting the TDC dials to be user controllable is the stumbling block currently.
