Okay sorry if this the wrong place 1st time posting and new is my excuse:cool:

I have installed GWX 3.0 to silent huntr everything was working fine then WHAM:damn: only to types of torped its the 1st 2 you get at the start of 1939... I tryed having a look in the cfg files everything looks normal.. I tryed starting a new test career and its the same. Just wondering wether there is a mod or if this is a known bug with 3.0. Also I love the work of gwx although an amature like me is not keen on the map enemy contacts being grey same as the friendlys.:ping:.. I had to turn external freeview cam back on to see wether it would be a waste of time to follow a ship around the open seas (I know that in real life they would have done until they found out) But I do not use time compression and have been doing very well and its fun to go slow around the seas it spreads the game out even longer..:salute: But if you could answer my question above it would be gratefull.. I just dont want to have to remove everything and reinstall silent hunter :wah:

Opps mayby I have been a member longer than I thought....God does time fly this is not my 1st post either :) me thinks iv been under water for 2 long

There will be more torpedo types later in the war. I'm not sure about the exact dates, but I'm in 1943 in my career and I have type 1,2 and 3 available. Also type 1 fat and type 3 fat torpedoes are available.


You never use time compression? WOW :o
I know some actually played the whole patrol in real time. I've been thinking about this and would like to try it some time in the future.


And for the availability of the torpedos..someone will come by shortly and will tell you the exact dates.. :yeah:

Yeah the only thing which breaks the realism is the fact I pause and save and dissapear for work, food and of course to socialise. other wise i would be das boot on the brain :damn:. Its really good tho because it means you get even more excited when a boat appears on the horizon because you may have gone a day or two without a sighting.. It also means your not rushing so its harder to make a mistake... heres a question. I have gwx 3.0 but have decided I like what am hearing about shcomander... can I nstall that or do I have to make a clean insall and install that 1st then gwx??:dead:

Sh3 commander is actually a separate program that you run before you start the game. So it doesn't matter what mods you're using.

I really recommend that you install sh3 commander. It pumps up the immersion level even more.

Be sure to get and install the SH3 Commander cfg files for use with GWX. As JohnnyBlaze said, SH3 Commander is a separate install outside of SHIII and highly recommended. You will start getting more torpedoes to choose from starting sometime in 1942 and continuing to the end of the war.

Excelent help guys cheers for the replys but I have a head full of questions.. I have also been searching around but not sure wether there is such a mod that changes the grayed out contacts back to being red for enemy ect... yeah it ruins some of the realism but 1 my computer screen is rubbish n 2 I find that even when I'm sure that its an enemy that I torpd about 6 out of 10 times its a friendly:arrgh!: I have found a mod calld contact colours gwx 3.0 but it does not have a read file to see what it does and when I use it they still come up gray for all... if there is such a mod I would be gratefull for a pointer in the right direction other wise all just have to keep free cam on :ping:

You have to get close to see the flag.
Then, in the periscope view use the lower-left (in the corner) flag you drag and check if the flag you see on the ship is neutral, allied or enemy before shooting.

On my last patrol I sunk a 6k tons norwegian cargo in january 1940 and they were neutral, that costed me 150 renown :p

lol:up: yeah ano that but as a said ma comp aint that good n :dead: my eyes are pritty rubbish:cool:... okay I will just use external cam to pretend I have an extra fine tuned telescope with very good magnafication which I took along for them crystal clear nights to gaze at the planets but have now used it to my advantage:DL.. anoughther question... I used the additional ammo mod but now my deck gun has 0 all the time.. even on a new career. and I used to have fun deciding which rounds to use also I would love to give that last peice of hope to the lifeboats that drift at night in the middle of the ocean by sending a star in the sky. Also I know it wasnt that real but am sure if I was a uboat comander for real a would rather have a sligh mixture of rounds because you never know what you will need them for:arrgh!: Is there a way or mod to bring bak the options for rounds and how do I bring back more than 0 ammo:ping: Oh yeah I think this new server seems to be doing very well... its the fastest webpage I have ever been on... you click your there before your finger has even left the mouse... excelent if there ws an award for the fastest webpages and best content am sure 1st place would be awarded to subsim... heres another question is subsim uk based????

please answer am wanting to go for anougher patrol but love to pick the small frys of by deck gun once wounded..... please please please:wah:

When subsim is slow because of servers IO get an almost instant reply but when its lightning fast I dont get an instant reply... quick am guna get told to do the dishes or somthing:damn: and want to do a patrol equiped for anything:arrgh!:
