Hi,
i am playing the second campaign at the moment (03/1940). i want to change the armament of the merchants, because approx. 80% of the bigger merchants (regardless of convoi or single ship) are armed with a deck gun (bow & rear), which is afaik not historically correct.
can this be changed to a more realistic percentage ? where ?

Yes can be done
Ship by ship

Inside are all the ship folders
Lets open the NLL - Liberty
Open the EQP in notepad
[Equipment 1]
NodeName=M01
LinkName=NULL < No gun on node
StartDate=19380101
EndDate=19400131 < no gun ends this date
[Equipment 2]
NodeName=M01
LinkName=4.5In_Mk9_US < now has a gun
StartDate=19400201 < which started on this date
EndDate=19451231
[Equipment 3]
NodeName=M02
LinkName=NULL
StartDate=19380101
EndDate=19400131
[Equipment 4]
NodeName=M02
LinkName=4.5In_Mk9_US
StartDate=19400201
EndDate=19451231
ETC
You can change the end date for the NULL entry and the start date for when has a weapon

Need to go thru them myself as all those searchlights in a convoy is a killer

NodeName=L01 ( L is usually Lights\M is usually main guns\S = secondary\A = Anti aircraft\W is usually depth charge,anti sub weapons and T is normally torpedo tubes )

yeah seems a bit early for the brits to have that many armed merchants to me...
