I like making videos from games, and if its even possible to do this by modding it would be awesome. For screenshots too I guess. This means you could get some really dramatic angles and views.

Is this to do with some setting for 'zoom' or a change of 'focal length'?

Not sure what the relevant terms are in the game, but I suppose there is a difference between zooming the camera and changing the focal length.

Should be pretty easy to do with the goblin editor. I'll try to find time for it tomorrow/today.

:woot:Yes! I have wanted this since I saw what could be done in rFactor with this feature. The possibilities for screens and videos are endless with such a feature.

Now you have 3 modes: default, 3x, 5x. Use Scroll wheel.

Thanks, I bet that's not all you have up your sleeve.

Just in case you want to tweak this yourself, here's what you need to do:

1) Start GoblinEditor.exe (should be somewhere near sh5.exe)
* if its the first time you're running it, go to tools -> options and set both ActorsDirectory and RootFolder paths to your sh5 install folder (the place where sh5.exe resides).
2) File -> open -> data/library and select both cameras.gr2 and cameras.cam
3) Many ways to do this... one is to Select Dummy_cam_freecamera in the gds_scene tree. Right Click -> Edit Controllers
4) In the popup window select the Optical controller and expand ZoomLevels
5) Adjust as you see fit. You can add/remove entries by right clicking.

:woot: It's great.
You use shift+mouse_wheel to get to the zoom levels in between right? Mouse wheel by itself will only get me min/max zoom.
Just checking..

No, I changed elanaibas values a bit. His file has 1x, 3x and 5x, I changed it to 1x, 10x, 20x. Only scroll wheel to zoom.

I really liked the screenshots from Stabiz. Are your 1,10,20 values available as a mod?

I have a question regarding the camera control:

I think I read somewhere that there is no longer an option to have the camera fixed at a unit and change to the next visible unit with the , and . buttons. Is that true? And can this be added back in then also?
