oh i opened a support ticket with direct2drive stating the problem of the non clickable download button if i get a response ill post it asap, oh ps my badcompany 2 is up and running for those that were worried my proxy trick of buying games on direct2drive from europe with a proxy site, works 100%

I just bought SH5 on the D2D US-site even though I live in Europe... purchase worked out fine even though it says US and Canada only :hmmm:
I got the Gold edition for 44€, but I wonder if I'll be able to download it... my button still isn't clickable either.

Hmm, didn't let me preorder without a proxy. With a proxy no problem though.

On the other hand my brother is telling me not to make this mistake, buying from D2D. Suggests me to wait for Steam...

Any quick experiences? We won't be having troubles with patching/reinstalling and burning the install file to a DVD and all that?

Never had problems with D2D purchases. Steam has had problems with Silent Hunter in the past though.

Exactly ubi store basically is a cosmetic change of Direct2drive, ya still no clickable download button maybe its just not unlocked yet but then again why would it say download now, Epic Fail who ever forgot to put the quarters in the Server Mainframe:damn::damn:

Apparently they've just updated the site so the download option should become active soon, bear in mind this update might take a short while to filter through so dont try it in a minute and panic if it doesnt work. I think that Ubisoft should have tested the software that is used in downloading the new SH5 and if thats not the problem someone from Ubisoft should post here and explain the delay.I have preordered the Gold from D2D and now not getting what was posted. I cancelled my order from Amazon so I would get the software today and it seems we are getting shoved onto the back burner to warm our buns till they decided when to post the software.

Just a note for those not in the US or Canada. I don't live in N. America either, so I thought I would try purchasing SH5 Gold through D2D anyways. It worked! No proxy, nothing. I think the secret is to enter a jibberish credit card billing address (not PayPal), and be sure to choose US as the country. Of course, your credit card will still be billed as usual. Hope this helps. :salute:

Yeah it is pretty terrible. However, my ping to Chicago is 5-10 and coast to coast is below 50 to decent servers so I cannot complain to much.

You need to purchase via a link from the subsim store in order for subsim to benefit. I think that limits you to Amazon.
