The u-boats barely have any pitch and roll in heavy sea,s. Also better known as subs on rails. This is huge immersion killer for me. The boat should ride the waves which in sh-5 it sure as hell doesnt.

CG_Height in (assuming SH3/4) data/submarine/NSS_whatever/NSS_whatever.sim. Don't go overboard, you could invert the sub when rammed by DD if adjusted too high. Set up static mission with close aboard fast moving DD to test.

What does this have to do with a ramming DD? I just want the u-boat to get rid of the subs on rails inssue.

You said you wanted more pitch and roll in a sub, so i told ya what to do, what to watch out for, and how to watch out for it.

Alot of files are interrelated. Touching the scene.dat, is only part of the picture, when it comes to pitching and rollling in heavy seas.

changing the setting changes the floataion or balance point so you might get it to act right normally only to find out that your sub stands on end vertical when some other effect changes something like when a DD bumps you or if you take on a little water.

hope thats helps you understand it better

^ what webster said. You have to test those adjustments. Release a mod without having tested, and you'll find end users posting screenshots of upside down submarines, which can be rather embarrassiing as a modder. Thought id save anyone reading what i wrote from that.
