Heres another simple mod which replaces some of the terrain textures to make them more realistic, if you like that :)

There are two sizes depending on your computer specs:

this will be a WIP, to go over the terrain features as well as the buildings and trees and bring them up to more realism, the hope is to fit this small work in along side all the great mods that are coming out..... SH3 forever! (well for a while at least!)

As I said, this mod is a WIP so check back time to time. I am trying to work through all terrain, the difficulty is finding the appropriate terrain for the texture Im working on. S0 if any one can point me toward the appropriate locations, I can proceed more quickly. My goal is to redo all the terrains. The last image is my attempt to show that SH3 can bring on the eye candy too! Long live SH3!

seawolf, I decided to release each update as a standalone, I think that will make it easier .So just delete the old version and use the new version. The numbering system will insure you have the latest update

those are good suggestions. I was thinking of upgrading the trees by importing better models I already have in a 3d model library. The problem is that they would be higher in polygons and would require lots of them so a fair amount of testing would be required. In the near term, however, deleting the trees in the antarctic would make sense, and in the arctic regions perhaps too. Im in the process of learning the whole terrain system and will be able to see soon what possibilities this old engine will allow us. This much is certain, we have a lot of room to grow still.

However, any colors and type of look can be achieved by tweaking the envcolors.dat files, and with enough patience and time it may be possible to get this look. Maybe I will try that
