Have you ever use this plugin and had this warning popup, and then 3D Studio Max R3.1 CTD on you? :arrgh!::damn::wah:

http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss62/fleetcommandcc/3D%20Models/Warning.jpg

Just so you know the model in the screen print has 25452 Verts and 32436 Faces\Polys. :yeah:

Well I Know I have and it say in the Readme file.

Unofficial and unsupported plugin for 3d Models for Sub Command and Dangerous Waters. The plugin is only compatible with 3DS Max v3.x (i.e. 3.1 and 3.5). The max number of polys is believed to be 32,000.

Now I have tried exporting models with less Vert's & Faces\Poly's than this and they have had the same warning popup. I've never been able to get the DW .J3D plugin to export a up 32,000 and till now.

Here is what you need to do, to make the DW .J3D plugin to export up 32000 Vert's & Faces\Poly's.

Select all the parts of the model.
Then click on the Modify icon.
Then click the more button go down the Modifiers list and select MeshSmooth.
Then look at the Subdivision Amount and change the Iterations: to 0.
Then export the model.

Something important to remember finish the model before you do this, or make a .max backup file first, because it can go wrong if you aft to change something after changing the Iterations setting to 0. You can now export a model up to the 32768 limit, and the model can also be just one part has well.

It has simple as that, quite cool methinks. :salute:
