How can I change in wind power in Silent Hunter 3

I have a program Slinet 3didtor but I do not know which file to edit,
and strictly speaking wants to change the maximum wind force of 15 m / s to 30 m / s.:ping:

Hello !

Look at the file called "Scene.dat", open it with S3D and navigate to "Node6 - Sky > 8EnvData > 9EnvData. On the right side look at the entry "param_Wind speed".

Best regards,
Magic

Iirc changing weather settings does increase the likelyhood of the weather getting stuck, as opposed to dynamically changing again. I think Rubini (and somebody else) did some testing on this and made a document explaining what you can or should not change.

coatings changed from the standard 10.0 to 10.5 I hope that this will lead to any results. And why does such a thing because once I found a long time ago and I'm pleased but after a PC format has gone to the bottom like a stone, looking at the subsim and Google but I failed to find the minimod:cry: called "DAS BOOT WATER" or similar.

I greet and successful hunting.:salute:

Can't be changed. When one player tried it he found that he could raise the max wind speed to 45 m/s. When he tried it in-game it automatically defaulted back to 15 m/s. So he created the Big Waves Mod instead, which doubles the size of the waves.

SH3 Commander contains that mod, or one that does exactly the same thing.

I use the "seasonal" in SHCommander with good results.

And how the wind reacts to smoke, or he is not tied to the direction of the wind, the wind is blowing in one direction and the smoke goes in another direction?

A known fault in SH3.

hmm if I use the normal version of SH3.
as I read the SH3 Commander will only work with GWX Mod 3.0
and before my very well with it can not cope (you need to wait a long time to load the game)

:yep: Same here.

Not so. SH3 Commander works with ANY version of the game. GWX had some file updates that needed a special file to go into Commander, but that's the only limitation. Commander works outside the game to increase your captain experience tenfold. No SH3 player should ever be without it.

It is possible to also change wind direction using Sh3 commander, in conjunction with seasonal "mod" in it. Or even without it, having always a random wind direction that affect smoke. But this mod was never built yet, even it is totally possible and easy to made.

Just keep in mind that the wind that is show in the weather report will be not necessarily the same direction that the smoke will blow. Some of the sh3 limitations here.
