View Full Version : [POLL] Which Uboat Type do you use most?

Trying to decide how to setup a part of my GUI (Specifically the torpedo tube lights) so it fits for more users, I'd like to know which are the most played Uboat types. If you use two or more different sub types frequently, simply vote for both, I enabled that option. But please only in the case of using several in the same amount. If you have a preferred one with which you play most, then vote for that one.

Thanks, it helps

A bleed over poll we can pretend the SHV devs will see.
Awsome!

Type VII for its maneuverability....
and
Type IX for its range...

I generally retire before 1944 because someone told me it's going to get hairy in 1944 so I accepted retirement or a desk job.:arrgh!:

I use to patrol with VIIC/41, the "beautiful one" (for me) :O::O:

Many thanks for the input guys, I see the Type II is at best minoritary and most users simply go for 7 and secondarily, for 9.

This fits very well the layout I had first chosen

Current WIP (Still some things to change):

It looks awesome Hitman, I love the minimalist look and the overall design and graphic style. Can you explain a bit more, how do the buttons work?
And will you make different versions for different supermods? :)

There are three new buttons, as you can see over the torpedo tubes panel.

Clicking the leftmost one makes the chronometer appear, and the range table turns into a speed vs. time table.

Clicking the second one makes the TDC appear

Clicking the third one gives you access to all torpedo settings, including LUT/FAT dials. This appears in the space where the range table is in the default screen (The one shown here)

When clicking in the Zeiss logo, you return to this default screen, i.e. it hides the TDC/Chrono/Torpedo settings.

There is also a slideout open book showing rules of thumb to estimate merchant ships tonnage and dimensions, and a slide out wiz-wheel, which I already showed in another thread.

For example, this is what happens when you click the TDC icon:

The TDC is not finished, additional light and shadow effects will be added :hmmm:

There will be NYGM and GWX versions, but as always with my mods, anyone can use them for whatever they want (Except commercial purposes), so it can be ported to other supermods all or in part.

Ok, cool, and I just saw the picture with the wheel in the other thread, simply beautiful.
I re-installed SH3 to sink some ships before SH5 lands but don't have a good mod setup and I'm too lazy to convert some of what I'd like so I'm docked. But your GUI looks great, especially if there's a NYGM version :)

At least some screenshoots  TDC panel looks great. The depth indicator on the left and the "zeiss ikon" sign are quite too bright for my taste (and can be distracting for observation ...but it will be simple to mod). Waiting with impatience for the release!

I'm the lone lover of the type II i see. They're great little boats and a blast to go on missions on. Use them for port raiding a lot when I'm done patrolling the grid or area. Ive sunk 45k+ tons in eight missions. Not bad for something with five torpedoes

Yes, this is easily moddable because those both items are fixed in the background. In any case, when you rig for red they get a dark overlay which makes them less bright :) so you would only see them like this at daytime.

They are also not necessarily the final version, as I mentioned already the interface is full of placeholders and the retouches for light, contrast and shadowing will obviously come last.
