I am remembering 2 years ago the thoughts and ideas that we talked back then that was impossible at the time to execute and make it real.

You my friend are someone with superior skill to game graphics and overall, it is not common to see a Mod like this made from scratch and integrating in a game parts that have not even been created by the
original developers.

A master needs only to show his work in order to Be recognized, and you my friend are a Master.

My only criticism...Do you have plans to add any crew members to the compartment as you had in the rendered images earlier? Right now it looks fantastic, but the new compartments feel kind of empty. As a Kapitan, I'm wondering...Where my guys are right now?..Hmmm..They got the door closed. Is Bernard doing that damn hula show thing in the aft quarters again?

If you have your two guys back in the engine compartment (as earlier) and even one guy sleeping in bunk (no animation required for him), I think it would give the area at least a basic feeling of being populated.

Just a suggestion...

I removed the static crew in the engine room as it just felt strange, it may look ok in a screenie but in game they really needed something even if they were to just shuffle their feet a bit.
I dont know if i have the stomach to reskin those damn ugly character models again, painting skin weights is not my idea of fun, just to get those crew in the engine room in semi realistic poses took me an afternoon of tweaking joint systems and painting out screw-ups with the skins.
I did try to get a couple of crew in sleeping poses but finally got so angry with distorted meshes that i gave up, i would smooth out the skin weights perfectly on one side of the mesh and then the other side would mess up.
I guess thats a future addition for more patient modders than me.

would other interieurs follow ? Such as the electric engines room and the aft torpedo room ?
Or the forward room, such as the officers mess and quarters and the forward torpedoroom ??

That would be great. And if this would be availible, no one needs a Silent Hunter 5 with the damn DRM.

1) you may specify the characteristics of the PC you used for the video to do?
(when looking at the engine room, towards the CR was written 17 FPS)

2) In your excellent mod, the CT will be connected and open to the rest of the sub?

These are the tests performed from 2.4 GHz to 4.4 GHz on a dual core and FSB from 200 to 340 results in an increase of 90%, removing the food to a gain of 10%.
therefore assume that @ 4 ghz cpu with 2 cores and 4 cores you can have more 30 FPS.

Unfortunately that is the reality.:cry:
let me know if you need more evidence.

Perhaps this is not the time to ask (too premature, maybe) but DD is your Diesel Room Interior mod compatible with lucagaeta's Open Conning Tower mod? And if so, what would be the correct install order with GWX3?
As I said at the beginning...maybe too early to ask, and don't want to put any blocks in your way. I appreciate all your fine work far too much.

Hmm, those apps running in the background must really have had an impact as your system is a lot better than mine and im getting similar fps.
This is my laptop:
Core2duo t5800 (2*2GHz)
3Gb ram
250Gb HDD
Intel GMA4500mhd integrated gfx (256Mb onboard+2048Mb shared)
Vista home premium.

If im getting 24-30fps your sys should blitz that, although in any case we will have to put a warning on this that says "high end rigs only".

from my tests, I found a strong dependence of the SH3 CPU power and not the video card.

I did this test on my ATI 4870 X2:
reduced the 2 gpu clock to 300 mhz ram 500 mhz (defoult gpu 750 mhz ram 900 mhz) filters all forced to on 8x AA, anisotopic 16 X, a result no loss of FPS,
while you take down the CPU clock of 100 MHz and just in proportion you notice the loss of FPS

I have no information whether there are significant advantages in the 'use 4 CPU core
certainly use a I5 or I7 @ 4 Ghz will give significant benefits in terms of FPS
having a more advanced architecture

right, i can confirm the strong usage of ressources by sh3. especially the cpu is used. but with eyecandy effects, like hq particle effects and hires textures, the gpu is also affected. my laptop does reach its limits, when there are more than one oilfire next to me...e.g. 2 crashed planes beside my boat and the game turns into a slideshow.

specs:
core 2 duo t6500 @2,1 ghz
4gb ram
gpu: mobility radeon 4600 1gb ram

my desktop pc is more powerful and has no problems with mass particles effects.

specs:
amd 955 x4 phenom @3.1 ghz
gpu: radeon 4870 2gb
4gb ram
sata II drives

...even the processor is heavily used ingame! if i activate the automatic cpu health prog, he slows down in sh3, during to high temp. only photoshop does reach this kind of heavy ressource usage.

FM_NewInterior mod static version (beta)

Due to unforseen circumstances the full animated version is going to take a little while longer before it is released.

But i am aware that there maybe a riot if i dont release something so this is a beta of the static version without engine/hatch animations/no sound and non functioning dials, just think of it as a demo!
If nothing else it should give you a chance to see how well your rig will cope with the new interiors since the fps is pretty much the same with the animated version+ you get to explore a bit!

Enable via jsgme, this mod is built on and includes DivingDuck`s OH3.09 mod.
At present the only way to access the new rooms is via free camera (click on the floor in the control room to free your camera)

Now a little warning: even in its static state the new interiors are pushing sh3s engine pretty hard and will increase load times. As such i cannot recommend this mod to those with lower end systems, which actually includes myself.

i didn't get errors while unzipping files but my computer locks up when starting a new mission. So maybe there is something wrong with that NSS_Uboat7_CR.dat file...

Should this mod work with GWX 3? I disabled Open Hatch Mod before installing this to avoid conflicts, as I understood this mod includes Open Hatch too.

Right, this time round ive zipped it with 7zip so the archive is a little smaller and ive just downloaded it myself and its working fine without any corruption.

OMG. very nice work, very nice. simply amazing stuff flakmonkey, thanks for your hard work.

one issue so far is the hatch to the hydrophone/captains quarters is now closed (i dont have open hatch mod installed, just FM interior). Im sure there will be a few bugs to sort out, but this is going to work and it will be top notch mod of all time

also there will need to be a way to combine this with DD's open conning tower mod (currently it does not), i believe, as this will allow full roaming (free cam) access to all the interior that currently exists

works just fine, slightly lower fps, around 18-25
perhaps less food would increase that ?

Have installed it and tested it.

Results:

Graphics are superbly done , it looks like it has came with the original game but better and more detailed!:yeah:


The first time I tested it I had the hatch closed and when it opened still looked closed so I tested it without some other mods and saw that

Are incompatible with your Mod, , I say incompatible but does not CTD or anything, they just cause the problem of the closed hatch after your Mod is installed.

FPS are cool, it all depends on the machine power you run on it, and on mine at least is very optimized and no relevant effect on game play at all.


I will now run a Patrol and will report the results to you later on!

I am experiencing very slow camera speeds when I press Shift+F2 to explore the interior. This is distinct from a low-framerate stutter - the camera pans smoothly, but just extremely slowly. It's been torture for me, because I just love all the little details that have been added! Any thoughts?

It's an amazing mod, I've waited for it for a long time. Finally, when it's been released, I can't make it work. I install it via JSGME. Other installed mods:
-GWX 3.0
-GWX 16 km atmosphere
-GWX open hatch mod
-MFM Beta 4.1
-<some additional ships>

installation goes well, then I start the game, choose a single mission, VII type uboat, and still nothing, there's no way to open a hatch, in free camera mode there's a dark space behind it. What am I doing wrong? Please, help me guys, it would be great to visit the rest of my boat:)

I am experiencing very slow camera speeds when I press Shift+F2 to explore the interior. This is distinct from a low-framerate stutter - the camera pans smoothly, but just extremely slowly. It's been torture for me, because I just love all the little details that have been added! Any thoughts?

No need to use shift-f2 for free cam anymore, click anywhere on the floor to the same. See how that works.

Edit: Dang nevermind, I thought this was DD_OpenHatch thread, just realized the diesel room is released! :haha: Downloading ASAP !

Also Flack says to uninstall via JSGME any other Open H versions cause this mod includes it already!


So uninstall the Mod plus the GWX OH mod and then install this one again.

Files downloaded at 21.30 and immediately made first tests
I must say that it is a feast for the eyes
really nice

Pc pc features used
CPU Intel E5300 @ 4 GHz
2 gb ram
ATI HD4870 X2
positioning the most critical point because of the workload (engine room, next door room electric motors, looking towards CR.)
Original FM = 40 FPS
FM + open CT = 35 FPS
FM + open CT (sense food) = 38/39 FPS

The tests were made fog parameter increased from 11 mt. to 25 meters (to have more visibility now from CR can look at the engine room just clouded

Never mind! I found out what the problem was - with stock SH3 I was in the habit of holding down the SHIFT key as I floated through the sub - once you release the shift key, you move at an acceptable rate.

Excellent work! :D

I know you were frustrated about adding human figures, but how about placing some crewmembers under blankets in the bunks? That way you would only have to include maybe a head and hands underneath a spherical object. Regardless of what you decide to do, great job.

The textures, lighting, and everything is looking great, I think I'll be sleeping back at the bunks for a while instead of my little room, at least till the phantom starts pumping!

No FPS load at all here, 45-65+fps throughout

3Ghz Core2duo, 4GB RAM, 9800GT, 1680x1050, WinXP
Mods: GWX3, Uninstalled DD_OH, enabled ACM_GUI on top of this mod and my tweaked camera file. Seems to work flawless, I'll do more tests, and report back anything unusual.

Great work Flak, thank you! Take your time for the animated version.
And guys please read the README, some answers are there.

BTW; Lots of food :up: We even need some back in the other compartments.

This has got to be one of the best mods I've seen here. You've put an amazing level of detail into it.

It runs quite well for me. I don't have the exact FPS yet, but it is almost the same as before. One thing, looking forward from the engine room does produce a lot of lag for me. Maybe it's all the food?

Loading times have not changed, I think.

Bug-Report

It seems that on the command room you close and open the Hatch and it really looks open see Pic:

Using Silent 3ditor v.0.9.9, open file "NSS_Uboat7_CR.dat" and the options that you seek are in "Interior root - COMMAND ROOM" branch - there are e.g sub-branches "Node - banana_00", "Node - DMY_Salami" etc, you can preview them in "model preview", so you know what you are deleting - just delete a branch responsible for this or that salami banana or other food.

delete them all, all those "ciolan, salami, bread, banana, oranges, coaste". It is easy to do. :salute:

+The food is part of OH3.09, i quite like the amount of food personally but thats just me. I do intend to release a version attached to the stock CR which has no open hatch to the RR and just the default amount of food.

++The camera issues:
The excessive wave motion, yes this has been solved by DD in the animated version. The problem occurs because the pivot for the free cam was moved to the engine room so the dive angles etc are correct there but amplified the further from the pivot you get.

The slow Shift+f2 view, that was a typo by me sorry, but as in OH mod you can click the floor to go to a cam which has no speed issues.


And before anybody asks, yes i did hang a photo of Doenitz in the toilet:up:

+Just to reitterate, the odd problem of the radioroom hatch is caused by me forgetting to include a file from DDs open hatch mod, so dont disable your OH mod before enabling mine, that way jsgme will leave these files i fotgot to include in place and all will be well.

Version 0.11 includes fixes for the screw up witht the radioroom hatch (so now you can disable OH before enabling this mod)
Also fixes the camera speed for shift+f2

I havent checked the upload as its late and im tired but fingers crossed it should be ok.

If this mod is installed properly, a new shortcut (shift-e) puts you back at the engine room in freecam mod. Or if you are in the zentrale, control room, then you can click on the floor to go into freecam mod and walk back to the other compartments.
To come out of the freecam mod, you can just right click or go into other views with the F4,F5,.. keys.

Toni, it's mentioned in the readme, this is the non-animated beta version for us to test the FPS/System performance. And all the telegraph and other dials are non-clickable at the moment.

I use the shortcut, shift-h to open (ctrl-h to close) the hatch. I'm not sure if I tried the lever. The hatch had a graphical problem looking from the RR side but I think the newer upload from last night fixed it, I'll be trying it tonight. :up:

It`s a very nice mod but...i stay away from it till a bettered / newer version.

When i install this mod i can`t use the dd mods anymore. Only the flag
is working.

I had deïnstalled the dd`s mod in jsgme but that didn`t help.
I do also use the makman gui with the dd`s fix and i am not planned
to disable this great mod. Couldn`t use the command shift + h and shift + o.
and shift + v.

So for me it is waiting till all is bettered.

Anyway it is a very great mod Flakmonkey :yeah:

Great mod Flakmonkey. Seems OK on my old rig (P4 3Ghz, 3gig memory and ATI x1650pro 512mb video). Get about 25-30 fps walking through the engine room toward the rear of the boat, drops to about 15 fps walking the other way. I can live with that because it's such a good mod. When I clicked on the Watch Officer on the CT I shot up in the air, but I believe there is a fix for that by Diving Duck when he originally launched his open hatch mod. Can't wait for the animated version.:up:

I have a problem with the hatch going to radio/sonar room. I have SH3 1.4b with GWX 3 and this interior mod v0.11 being only mod installed from JSGME right now.

From the command room you cannot see the hatch door at all, not closed nor opened. The hole is just grey and you cannot walk thru it in free walking mode. If I go to radio room by pressing F9, the hatch door exist there but it is closed.

So it seems that there is only one hatch door at radio room's side and it is closed. Hatch doors to petty officer's quarters and diesel room are all open as supposed.

If I disable this mod and enable Open Hatch mod, the hatch door is open to radio room as should.

Any ideas?

Not sure but I had DD's OH mod combined with the conning tower fix, I now have FM's mod with conning tower fix and that problem is not there.:yep:
BTW Shift+e definitely doesn't take me to the engine room.

Oh yes that did it. I didn't realize that there was command for controlling the hatches, thought they would be always open. Thanks Flakmonkey! Great mod btw, really looking forward the final version.

I was worried this wouldn't work with GWX + OLC Gold, since the OLC mod has open hatch already, but so far so good.

Getting from 14 - 140 FPS depending on location/direction, and it varies quite a bit. Looks amazing... can't wait for working dials, etc.

This mod has more than doubled the size of the interior! Absolutely stunning. :rock:

edit: almost forgot, the file on filefront had no extension on it... I had to manually add the 7z extension.

another edit: Spoke too soon... it geeks the scopes with OLC Gold. A pity!

yet another edit: At the risk of posting more bogus info, I enabled the OLC fix last from DD's link:

My specs:

P4 dual Core 2.6 GHZ
2 GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia 640MB GT card

Getting steady 60 fps (Vsync on) in all interiors except when transiting from one room to another and/ or looking back (officer's mess, engine room), where it sinks to 35-40 fps. The further you go away from the hatch, the less fps hit (Obviously because less part of the other room is rendered)

Strangely, the hatch to radar/sonar compartments is closed fro one side and open from the other, no matter how much I click on the key combo.

I myself am personally interested mainly in that part of the boat that is visible during combat action, i.e. control room, open hatch to radio/sonar, and conning tower. Since I rarely go out from there, I'd be satisfied if you could bring out a poly friendly version that has just LucaGaeta's open hatch to Conning tower and your own officer's mess (With closed door to the rest of the boat).That would allow me to always see the most of my uboat from the position I never use to leave.

One more thing: Would it be more user friendly if you used the same system as in original SH3 of closed hatches and mouse clicking to access the extra compartments? I know SH3 has at least three clickable compartments in stock, 1) radar/sonar, 2) control room and 3) conning tower. You could swap your new interiors for one of them in the game's logic (And make the eliminated one an openhatch item) so that it doesn't load all except when you click to go into that compartment.

F.e. make control room and conning tower with open hatch one, and then have clickable radar/sonar forward, and officer's mess, engines aft. Or whatever combination seems best.

Before I discovered shift + H to open the hatch (which works for me) I had noticed it was one way... the camera would fly through that closed hatch if I started in the sonar/radio room, but not the converse.

My specs:

P4 dual Core 2.6 GHZ
2 GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia 640MB GT card

Getting steady 60 fps (Vsync on) in all interiors except when transiting from one room to another and/ or looking back (officer's mess, engine room), where it sinks to 35-40 fps. The further you go away from the hatch, the less fps hit (Obviously because less part of the other room is rendered)

Strangely, the hatch to radar/sonar compartments is closed fro one side and open from the other, no matter how much I click on the key combo.

I myself am personally interested mainly in that part of the boat that is visible during combat action, i.e. control room, open hatch to radio/sonar, and conning tower. Since I rarely go out from there, I'd be satisfied if you could bring out a poly friendly version that has just LucaGaeta's open hatch to Conning tower and your own officer's mess (With closed door to the rest of the boat).That would allow me to always see the most of my uboat from the position I never use to leave.

One more thing: Would it be more user friendly if you used the same system as in original SH3 of closed hatches and mouse clicking to access the extra compartments? I know SH3 has at least three clickable compartments in stock, 1) radar/sonar, 2) control room and 3) conning tower. You could swap your new interiors for one of them in the game's logic (And make the eliminated one an openhatch item) so that it doesn't load all except when you click to go into that compartment.

F.e. make control room and conning tower with open hatch one, and then have clickable radar/sonar forward, and officer's mess, engines aft. Or whatever combination seems best.

Install just is Mod and check it it should work fine!

If you don't have the latest version, Install DD_OH_V3.09 first and then this mod cause in the previous version he forgot some DD files from the OH mod!

please do not leave SH3 for a game with one Boat, Warending in 1943 and to be permanent online for singleplayer.
Sh3 will be alive, because of guies with your skill, long after SH4 and i am sure long after Sh5.

If you have the Latest FM Interior Mod You do not need the DD OH 3.09
cause it is already included The latest is FM_NewInterior (Static Beta) V0.11 .


If you don't, install DD OH 3.09 Then FM interior version you have, this is cause FM Forgot to add some files from DD OH 3.09 , The other file Mod Open conning tower it is not compatible and it will create a problem with your Radio Room Hatch.... If you install it..

I can upload it but I have to ask FM for permission to do so, cause I don't know if he removed it for some reason or it was removed from FF that is getting a Crap Uploading system...So I can upload it but First have to know if I can do so from FM...Sorry mate but it is his work and Mod I am just helping to take this issues from his hands so that he can concentrate his attention on his life and Mod!

Hey there mate,

Found some weird bugs when installed your new Updated Mod,
First the camera moves up and down like crazy, not the Sub movement with the waves on the sea, but you yourself...Then all the food disappeared, I mean everything, not a single salami hanged around, My crew doesn't eat that much!

But the worst of all is that when you are in the Command room and click the Obesv. Periscope nothing happens and if you use the Shift + O control keys to raze it the Periscope disappears completely, tried to lower it down to see if it would appear back without any result, it just disappears period....

So I have uninstall this last updated Mod of yours.

Sorry just some imput on the Mod...

You made something wrong with it, this time.

I have found that the conning fix has to be used to fix the overhead view when clicking on the WO, also I noticed that the Open Hatch works with VIIC but not the VIIB, is this normal?:hmmm:

What open Hatch mate?

If it is the Conning tower hatch, it doesn't work for me either I have currently a VIIB also,

If your talking about the DD OH then it is what FM has worked on, forgotten files from the DD.OH and there was the problem but he fixed it already.

You are correct!! It's not compatible with Anvarts DFa_UpDnRot_Flags_fin2 mod, remove this and all goes well, even the command line error is gone! Hopefully a fix comes out for that.:yep:

The only problem I see is I can no longer click on the O scope in the command room to look through it. slow Camera issue is fixed too. I installed this file as the mod, not as an update on top of any previous version, ie I only using this file for everything-conning tower and FM interior. JC wolf, Maybe you are trying to patch the earlier release? Try using this as standalone

I also and no offense here, think that either he haves permission to use FM's
work or he is using FM Mod without asking permission to do so, but that is another
thing that haves nothing to do with this, it is just a matter of principal to me.
You can not grab another guys Mod and pack some nice changes and post
it as your own even if you give credits to the original creator, this was
and is a old issue here at this forums, we had a lot of guys before
changing and naming Mods like there was no creator to ask permission to do so,
the ones that are here longer can remember this issues and I just
want this to be clarified before anything else.

Forgive me if the permission was asked, but if not here it is my thoughts!

Are the FM Mod file all needed to Luca MOD to work?!

I don't thing they are all needed and I want to keep the FM original Mod installed
cause it is a work of Art, and from there install possible new Interior Mods.

Sorry but his mod full Open the hatch beta 0.91 FM after installed over the
FM fantastic Mod gives me problems that I have mentioned in a previous post.

I like the Mod a lot but not as much as to change it for one of the
best Creations I have seen in this place so far I'm a member of this
fantastic place.

I'm sure luca and FM have been communicating via PM for this.

The reason he has the Interior Mod merged to his is, both use the same CR.dat model file.
In the stock SH3, NSS_Uboat7_CR.dat file has the mesh for the Zentrale, NSS_Uboat7_RR.dat has the mesh for the RadioRoom. They are seperate, that's why you have to click to the hatch to get in.

* In DD_OH the RadioRoom mesh is moved inside CR.dat. RR.dat file is zeroed.
* In FM_Interior, the compartments at the back are merged to the CR mesh dat.
* And in Luca's mod, the Conningtower hatch is opened by modifying the same file, CR.dat.

So Luca has to merge FM's interior mesh to his mod to get them to show at the same time, he can't do this without FM giving him the 3d files I think, so it's all good community team work :up:

Note: JC, luca's latest release 0.91FM fixes the Obs scope and I think also the other problems you mentioned.

I will download it again but I used the version he posted here before opening the Mods thread I guess they are the same, if not better, there was another thing thought that I didn't like, it was the fact that in Lucas Mod all the Food was done by by, nothing, zip, not even a box of oranges, thought I think the amout of food in DD.OH mod was a çitlle to much I still think that the stock amout of food was the perfect for me, at least that,
not removing all the food.

I will download the mod a try it .:yeah:

Why? :nope:It is strange Anvart, your files are not touched by this mod, the only thing I can think of is that a node with the same identity is being used and referenced, I'm out of my league here, am only guessing!:oops: With your mod installed the CR/RR hatch doesn't open, however the locking levers still function, also the command orders line shows "Radio antenna destroyed sir!", this shows on mission start.:hmmm: Note this is only with the VIIb, after testing it's the Turm7b_1_hd.dat file.

EDIT: @ JCWolf, the amount of food that will slowly disappear can be edited to the amount you like.

I too have had the same message at mission start when testing MaGUI2. Uninstalling DFa_UpDnRot_Flags solved the problem. Unfortunately, I can't provide an exact mod list and it is indeed possible that if I had uninstalled a different mod that too may have also solved the problem. Nevertheless, my suspicions are averted to a possible mod conflict...somewhere... :hmmm:

DDMost strange then what is happening DD, you probably read my posts, none of his files are included in yours and FM's work but certainly as soon as I enable Anvarts mod the problems are there in the VIIb only, would you have any idea why or where I can look?:hmmm:

...does someone test the new interior in campaign mode ?

for example, Living Silent Hunter v4 & v5 wont run anymore if campaign files are enabled (CTD just before reaching end of the loading bar). (started a new campaign)

please give feedback if it is running in any campaing modes.

i wont hope we reach a border of useable mem or something like that...

...should i try to remove starforce to be able to pimp sh3.exe to be able to use more than 2gb ram on my XP sys (Vista solution) ?

I am using the FM file , latest he released, and thought that I like the Luca Mod idea I still don't understand Why he haves the same Mod as FM
included .

I also and no offense here, think that either he haves permission to use FM's
work or he is using FM Mod without asking permission to do so, but that is another
thing that haves nothing to do with this, it is just a matter of principal to me.
You can not grab another guys Mod and pack some nice changes and post
it as your own even if you give credits to the original creator, this was
and is a old issue here at this forums, we had a lot of guys before
changing and naming Mods like there was no creator to ask permission to do so,
the ones that are here longer can remember this issues and I just
want this to be clarified before anything else.

Forgive me if the permission was asked, but if not here it is my thoughts!

I don't thing they are all needed and I want to keep the FM original Mod installed
cause it is a work of Art, and from there install possible new Interior Mods.

FM fantastic Mod gives me problems that I have mentioned in a previous post.

I was not saying that you used files without asking,
but maybe, it is cause in the past I and others had problems
with our Mods being used legally to built other mods and the
bad thing it was that no credit was given and The guys Called
our work as their own.

So, I drooped into conclusions maybe but didn't ever meant to
say you were doing the same, I am not the the protector of the weak
( this really annoyed me) but I am the protector of my own work
cause it takes timeless hours to do.

Right, this time round ive zipped it with 7zip so the archive is a little smaller and ive just downloaded it myself and its working fine without any corruption.

+since ive made you all my unofficial beta testers id be most grateful if you could take the time to post your system specs along with the framerate you could acheive with this mod, thanks folks!

I've found a new Issue, while i testing the new Sub Pens from HanSolo i get an CTD in Campaign Mode with Type VIIC.

But after testing with some other Mods i found out that i only get an CTD with the new FM Interior in the VIIC, when i start a new Campaign no CTD, when i start a Single Mission it's no problem but when i came near an Harbour CTD.:hmmm:
I hope this is solved in the Final Version, i love these two Mods.

Just a little update, i didnt like having to "fly" through the rear bulkhead to reach the diesel room, so the easiest solution was to just model the interconnecting compartments, this way we can have an open hatch straight from the CR all the way through to the diesels... and i do apologise in advance, there is still no toilet, the door will remain closed, i just couldnt justify the extra polys, still, there is a bucket in the engine room you can use!

In a way it is the same lighting, unfortunatly i couldnt recreate the volume lightfog from those renders in the game so it doesnt have that same ethereal quality, same goes for the ambient occlusion, looks great in the renders but when its baked into a lightmap it leaves grainy artifacts in darker areas so was dropped from the lightmaps for the game.
But i will do my best to live up to those early renders:up:

no worries, the 3d meshes remain untouched. You will not be presented with higher FPS at the expense of lower quality. The magic lies beyond visible range. :D
