No Task Force with GWX3.0

I get messages and map updates pointing out the location of a Task Force frequently.
I move to put myself in a place to intercept, and they never appear. I know my technique isn't faulty because anytime I set out to do the same thing with a convoy, sure enough, I can get right on it.

One incident told me I have a problem for sure. I get a map contact update of a task force steaming north at 8knots. I'm about 30km north of it. I think, yay and go flank speed towards it. It was also one of the few times I got unlimted visibility and zero waves. I do the math, stop after about 20km and dive to get a sonar fix. Nothing. I go flank speed towards it until I hit the map marker. Nothing. Its not like they could have gone around me because I was in that straight between scotland and those islands to the west.

I have also never run into a task force randomly. Never seen a ship bigger than a destroyer unless it was also escorting a convoy, and then it was only a Nelson. I'm about 15 patrols into my third career too.

Anyone know a fix for this. I'm a bit of a mod-newb, but I freakin' love GWX

Keep in mind that a lot of times they turn and/or change speed right after the contact report. You have to figure out where is the most logical place for them to go from where they were reported.

It is possible that you are encountering the end of a scripted TF's run and what happens when a convoy or TF hits the end of it's scripted run is the units disappear.

I know that could be a possiblity, but...

If I'm nowhere near them and don't try to make an intercept, I can see the same taskforce run up that same channel all the way to Scapa. They disappear every time I try to get close.

I don't know if its related but the two drop-down menus on the top right corner don't work for me either. I think its a convoy route map and a compass

I think it must be a bug, because I have run into them several times during patrols. I've also tried to make interception on one occassion, and it also worked..

I had the same thing happening to me at the same location also. Now i can get into turning around to another course. But iirc in GWX 3.0 all convoys and ships start and end in a port. So the vanishing cant be it unless its bugged of course.

One time doesnt say much i know. I have ran into a taskforce in an earlier patrol a while back also GWX 3.
