I got the alert of a ship being spotted of the coast of spain. Went to map to check it out and it said warship. So I dove and slowly made my way towards her. She did not move the entire time, so i figured "good she's dead in the water". Once I got close I found out it was only a wounded armed trawler, but knowing better I did not surface. " Well, shes already on fire so one in her side should net me an easy finishing shot." or so I thought. I put one in to her, made her raise out of the water a little, but no sink. i used T/C and watched her for two hours, nothing. So I put another into her, still nothing. This made me mad and i pumped two more into her, completely raising her out of the water, but still no sinky-sinky. I again used T/C and raced forward in time one day, still nothing. i pumped my last four bow tubes and my four aft tubes in to her, and still nothing. This made me mad, so I snuck away and surfaced to reload. i went back and gave her everything I had........she finnaly began to sink!
Hardest Nutt to crack ever. I have sank battle ships with less effort.:x

Returned to port to report my ONE ship sank, recieved Knights Cross.:shucks:

Hi, the trawler might be bugged. Things like this happen sometimes. Im guessing you're using mod. Report it in proper section to modders, let them look into it.

As Apos says, I suggest you report it to the creators of the mod you're using. I assume you use OM? If so, go here (http://subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=134922&page=82). Also, give the following info in your report:

Date
Location
Type of Sub
Flotilla
Mods (in install order)
other relevant facts

Nah. I'm pretty sure I have a corupted install of either game or OM. I've had to many problems that no one else has reported. I just thought it was hillarious how unsinkable a fishing boat with a gun on it can be.

Did the people who named this boat mean to call it an Armored Trawler ?

You never know?

The Philadelphia Experiment was an alleged naval military experiment at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_Naval_Shipyard) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia,_Pennsylvania), USA, sometime around October 28, 1943, in which the U.S. Navy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Navy)destroyer escort (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destroyer_escort)USS Eldridge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Eldridge_(DE-173)) was to be rendered invisible (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invisibility) (i.e.,cloaked (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloaking_device)) to human observers for a brief period of time. That is also referred to sometimes as Project Rainbow.

The trawler may have been an earlier experiment? No sense in pulling a destroyer out of action for something that has not been tried yet.

When I was playing with the Admiral Scheer BB, I could destroy a destroyer with a single salvo (deck guns). The trawlers however.... there could be something wrong with them. However, don't waste your torpedoes on patrol crafts.

That is what I thought, that they may be a little stronger than they should be in the first place.

but come on.

Any way, i usually skip them as a waste of time, but this one was such an easy target. It just aggravated me that
it wouldn't go down and got the best of me. I guess I should have surfaced further away and tried the gun,
but knowing this trawler, it would have had a 16" gun.
