Hi dear subsimers,


It's a real pleasure for me to give you this very little update a modest contribution to the community.
I'm an old engineer(LI) of the merchant navy and this sound was missed me.
There is a very little work to your ears only.
This sound files has been build from an original ambiance interior and mixed by myself(with "Audacity") with a sound files of the engine room from the movie "Das Boat"(captured in the end of the movie just after their escape from Gibraltar, 31 seconds of dream, noises of diesel engines only).

Just make a backup of your amb_SubmarineInterior.wav and paste this file in the sound folder located at C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Sound

After that you'll have a real atmosphere inside the boat when cruising on surface but, of course, not when the electrical engines are working when the submarine is in the deep.

Properties of the files are the same as original, no compatibility problem, the files has been tested with success.

I love it when running surfaced, its got just the right level of diesel noise, but for me at least i find it a little off putting to still hear the diesels while submerged at silent speed, maybe you could seperate the diesels sound from the ambient interior track and replace the stock diesel sound with the one you used and edit the volume up a bit, at least this way it should sound pretty much the same as what you have now but the diesel noise will stop when submerged.

It seems impossible.
I'll try but it would be better(and more easy) if we could switch 2 "amb_SubmarineInterior.wav" when the submarine dives.
And I'm not enought strong to do that...

I'll try to do more, because the sound environment is really important for immersion in the game, especially the long days of sea.
