I have been doing some trivial but interesting stuff. I have been looking at the props on the subs in all mods to see if anyone has it correct. In both 1.4 & 1.5 the shafts are turning the wrong rotation for forward direction. The boat should be traveling in reverse. The props on the shafts are proper, ie. "LH" on port shaft and "RH" on stbd shaft. ALL MODS and I mean every mod made have it all wrong with the exception of DUCIMUS, as he corrected the shaft rotation in all his mods.
CONGRATULATIONS MR. DUCIMUS
TAMBOR did a slick thing in only one of his missions, as I only viewed about three of his. I found he put a "RH" prop on the port shaft and a "LH" propp on the stbd shaft to get around the travel direction problem. CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. TAMBOR.
The Iowa and North Carolina both have 4 left handed props on their shafts with improper shaft rotation. Those ships in forward are actually travelling in reverse and BACKING TO PORT. They need a huge rudder to compensate.
THINK ABOUT THIS: I wonder if DUCUMUS has built in another way to kill you. He is the only modder that has "Polished" his props to a high sheen.
If you use his mod, take and fly around with the free cam. Look down on the submerged sub at periscope depth and those shiny props are clearly visible to aircraft.
ALL other mods as well as stock use the "dull" bronze look. I think you should check with Ducimus on this.
If you want to see "hammered" props just look at the ones on the IOWA and NORTH CAROLINA and discover they are made from "hammered" tin.
FOTRS has installed extremely large props on his subs with a huge pitch, but neglected "proper" shaft rotation but did the same as TAMBOR by putting "RH" on port shaft and "LH" on stbd shaft to obtain proper direction of travel.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE... "FOTR"... TEAM
If you want a kicker, just add the Iowa and North Carolina to your setup together. Play the NC and you end up in battle with only the gunmount platforms and "NO GUNS". The crew is at liberty just lounging on the deck and all this is while at battle. That skipper must be fu'd up to go to sea like that, and the crew just as bad to even go along. Take the Iowa out of the setup and the NC has guns. The IOWA always has its guns. I think the Iowa skipper has something against the NC.
Even though DUCIMUS' shipyard turns out the only proper boats with shafts that rotate in the proper direction and he install the proper wheel on the proper shaft, if you go there for work he will probabally "bug" your boat and ur dead anyway........... and.......you will leave his yard with bright shiny props that shine like the stars for the aircraft to home in on. I say do not pull into his yard for work...............Doug
"PS": If I neglected to give proper credit to anyone else, it is an innocent oversight.
CONGRATULATIONS MR. DUCIMUS
