View Full Version : Reactor Room
Heres a little mod I started on, not yet finished, but this might be a decent generic for A reactor room if we can get it ingame. Theres no lights or other do-dads in it, yet, but I just started this.

Reactor Room as in Reactor Compartment, or Reactor Control Center? :06:

Well good luck with that. I don't even know where to point you for reference material.

Just make a compartment that is completely black inside. A reactor compartment looks just like the inside of your closet at night when the door is closed and the light is off.!:har:

I'm sure you find a lot of US sub material on a russian or chinese website.. :har:
This reminds me of when I was working in the SA Navy base at Simonstown.. they had an old French Daphe class sub in a shed, where they were doing mods on it.. As I opened the one shed door to have a look. out popped one of these very militaristic civilians saying I cannot go in there as it was 'top secret', and only special passes were allowed.
My reply was 'The russians probably are paying for these mods, so what's the big deal ?'.
He flipped out.. so I walked off.
6 months later our Chief of the Navy and his wife were arrested for espionage (spying for the russians)... so soon afterwards I happen to pass this guy and said... 'I told you so.. now can I have a look'.. He was NOT amused and I told him that he was a 'pratt'.
I was working on the other subs so there was not much more to tell anyway.

Great story, vanjast!
Back when I was young, the first boomers weren't a year old before both Revell and Renwal came out with 'Visible USS George Washington' models. The interiors weren't perfect by a long shot, but they were close enough to have the DOD and the Navy up in arms, and the FBI visiting those companies to find out where they got their info. Some people were very unhappy indeed.

Uncle Sam can get his panties in a bind over some things. I remember having to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement concerning Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, hell I've never even seen what the Reactor Compartment looks like. :doh:

I compared it to the real SR-71 and was totally amazed at the exact detail in the model.
Lockheed was NOT happy. :nope::nope::nope:
