Are you using the correct 1.4b patch?
There is a European and an American version for both DVD and Downoad versions:

yes.. i know if the patch is wrong it will give some error of files....
Actually i've the same issue as Dallatorre, except the error message.
i'm getting something else.
After the main screen progress bar is 100% loaded, there is nothing going on. When i pressed on Win key, i got the following warning:
there is a new(not implemented) page :<Page ingame Options!>
Clicking on ok, does nothing. Closing the SH completly = reboot PC.
any ideas?
installed SH3 1.4b
thank Seb1

I'm struggling for clarity here....uninstall using the said feature on the disk, then reinstall and check if the game is already patched.
I actually solved the issue.
my Win XP is very pesky one. So i went and uninstalled everything. then went to registry and search and kill anything with "Ubisoft"
then rebooted the PC, and reinstalled the Game.
then finally launched the GWX3.0 and to my big surprise: i'm a very happy camper.
thanx for the support!

I'm with you Jim. i'm not sure what he's asking here. Please try and be a little more specific if you could?

In future try performing a registry cleanup with an appropriate software programme.
I use regvac...there is a free trial version available from here:
