View Full Version : just an idea
I don`t know anything about computer code or suchlike, but given the fact that there are a lot of very talented people out there who can work wonders with mods for SH3, I was just wondering if the following could be possible - that box on screen where the messages appear (say the ones giving information about convoy locations) - could the messages be made to come up on screen letter by letter? That way you could read it literally as it came in word after word.
Couple that with the sound of a morse signal to accompany it , I think that would rock from an immersion point of view.
Just a thought.

That is the sort of thing that would really be best suited to the devs. Personally, I think I would tire of the noise and waiting while it printed out. Thanks for the idea though!

You wouldn't read it that way anyway. The radioman would recieve the message, then your 2WO would decipher it and hand it to you. You wouldn't even hear the stupid morse sounds unless you were standing right there.

Taking it a stage further, and what would be a fantastic addition, would be to have messages and orders sent to you by BDU that require you to alter your current objective, and then act upon those orders, reporting progress as you go.
This would offer a very realistic addition to the game in my opinion.
Wonder if this could be achieved somehow?

Fair enough, but I would like to see the message and read it that way simply from a gameplayer`s viewpoint. I am not concerned about historical accuracy, I just think it would add to my own enjoyment of the game, thats all.
