How can i make "passing thermal layer" message to be visible in message log?
If i am passing that layer at 2x or more speed compression, there is no indication on this event.

its not a message, its a report from your crew so it shouldnt be in the messages system which works on time and dates

if your passing thermal layer at time compression then your commiting suicide anyway so you probably wont live long enough to read the message anyway

thermal layer will generally stay at the same depth in the area your in so take note of it and you wont need reminding where it is.

Not if yur playing stock. It takes forever to get from PD to 150-200 where the thermal generaly is, so I run 2-4x. The convoy is often far enough away that I need not worry about being killed yet. I was just about to ask for the same thing. The message system throws up sound contacts and ship spotted. Ofcourse, didn't subs have a gague for this? I know silent service for nes did, not that I knew exactly how it was used back then.

not sure what your doing but it takes me only 2-3 minutes at flank speed to reach max depth playing stock and thermal layer is often at 1-2 minutes into the dive

if your creeping at 2 kts silent running then you better not be in tc or the DD will finish you off before you get there

if your running for thermal layer in a hurry then do it by going crash dive and at flank speed (because if your running then they already know exactly where you are) then at about 100ft set to max depth to continue your dive and when you cross thermal layer then make a turn and go silent running

Thermal layer messages in message box will be USEFUL for me and another deaf players. This is what have been bothering me for a long time after playing for a long time in Silent Hunter 4 with mods included. I am very disappointed when I realized that SH4 doesnt subtitle everything what crew reports, including thermal layers.

If one of you make a mods that enables messsages on thermal layer, it will be big help for us!

well the catch 22 there is it doesnt always display the messages or play the sounds as it should so its spotty at best

it gets a little tricky what controls what when it comes to the automated messages like that and i never understood that section of the game very well. i think most things are controlled one way or another by the menu files.
