View Full Version : NSM for 1.5?

I used (and loved) the Natural Sinking Mechanics mod for 1.4. I haven't used that since UBM came out, and there are days I really miss it.

Does anyone make a similar mod that (only!) changes the way ships sink in 1.5 to be more realistic?

I normally play Operation Monsun, and I've got no problem with the sinking in that mod. Every once in a while though I've got a hankering to play vanilla on the US side, but the vanilla sinking bit just kills me.

If I could fix the way ships sink in vanilla, I'd be golden for a more relaxing patrol.

Thanks!

many use nsm for 1.4 with v1.5 and find no issues at all, some report finding minor glitches (but i never saw them listed so im not sure what thery were) but the way it was talked about it sounds like it wasnt anything that noticable.

i get the idea that its fine to go ahead and use it with stock v1.5 and you wont notice any problems at all.

what exactly happens to sinking when you used this mod? And do you need the realistic sink times in use when you use it to get the effect?

it increases hit points way high so the ship only sinks from flooding, no huge explosions or breaking in half just very slow sinking only from flooding that takes time to happen and if you leave before it finishes sinking you lose credit for it. go out of range before it records it as sunk and it doesnt count.

to use nsm you have to commit to killing time waiting on slow flooding but it is more realistic so to each his own but i never had the patience to use it.

Keltos, is the file still there? Because I've been trying to download it for the past 20 minutes and FF keeps telling me that it's unavailable at the moment. WTF? Seems like if it's not one thing with them, then it's another. I reinstalled SH4 and patched it back up to 1.4, and wanted to get this back with it. So many files I used to use for SH4 are now gone from FF. Pretty dead here now it appears in general.
