i finally managed to wreck my installation of SH3 while copy pasting data files. :damn: thus i am reinstalling from scratch. how am i supposed to enable the mod? why isn't there any readMe file? guys how should i enable the mod without depth charging the SH3 installation?

i have got no gun on the any of the ships. not the cruisers not the battleships and just a flak38 on type 34 destroyers that cannot be manned. what should i do?
I think it is best to do it yourself
in any case, try
personally I do various modifications of colors to SH3
often painted on solid colors:)
with modifications that are presented by the "Chinese" is a ONCE I managed to play another ship and it was Nagato, but only once and then after passed the complete game crash
I had to disposition several versions of SH3, SH4, SH5 and from what I noticed are slight differences, the German version differs from the Polish, Russian version differs from the English version - if you take the English version is a correct version, so modification to be done under this version and not do under the Chinese, for example, because that both versions, though made ***8203;***8203;by one company, they are of such large differences in file systems that making of modifications on the Chinese version, with the 80% of this modification will not go in the other versions - namely English, German, or which I have in Polish. It has already been tested - the only modifications that are 100% compatible are the GWX or Aces series - the rest have more or less trouble, either with graphics or with the consistency of files.

i am trying this magnificent warship mod :up::up::up:. but i have some problems and some questions.
1- most of the times when i start with a battleship, it is so big it doesn't fit into the dock, with propeller out of water (stern high) it doesn't move at all and starts to take damage from the beginning with nothing i can do about it.
2- i can never load a game, the game always crashes on reloading.
3- the range of gun battle (the range at which AI opens fire on a target vessel) is just 5Km :yawn:. the AI doesn't engage targets beyond that range. do you have the same problem?
4- although it's magnificent to sail with the Bismarck and the Scharnhorst, the detail about gunnery and rang finding leaves much to be desired. Scharnhorst hit HMS Glorious at a record range of 24Km and the gun duel at the battle of the Denmark strait started at something like 18Km. i guess we should add some views like a rangefinder to the ship and the range of automatic engagement should be increased to something like 20Km.

you need to know where to start missions - if you do not modify the environment (landscapes), it is the best port of Kiel - starting in the dock without a building, ship sinks not only in the concrete is almost ready to go
2- i can never load a game, the game always crashes on reloading.
This means that several modifications fall on each other, install the game pure, no additives, no patch, then turn on the changes - but only through JGME, through this program the game is not "destroyed" by the imposition of new files and still is pure

AI the game is set to start firing from the UK 5500 yard, you can shoot yourself from a distance - but the AI always hits the target or a sphere - when you shooting yourself you do not have such a cell from a distance - close-up (up to 1000 in yard), you are better from AI because you know where to shoot
the charm of the game:)

Connection artillery and rangefinders are already higher physics, do not expect from a game that does not use even 10% of computing power 2.2 GHz single processor could be converted to gravity, the weight of the projectile, the trajectory implied, physical trajectory, the momentum of the individual, the angle of view .. .
for more than five months time I sit down on the IXD2 U-boot with minor modifications and beats everything that swims with 105mm gun - that because I am already very good and I can stop the destroyer in 3000 yards

i) i guess you are just very skilful at shooting destroyers who would not hesitate to ram a surfaced boat if they can't already shoot to hell. but what what was thinking was that there is not a single instance out of the 1000 U boat the Kriegsmarine commissioned into the Atlantic (and pretty sure anywhere else) of a U Boat scaring away a destroyer with the deck gun. the best thing that comes to my mind about such a mess is HSK Kormoran shooing against HMAS Sydney.
ii) but i agree with you. (i once sank a tribal destroyer with the deck gun before she knew what was hitting her) i mean there are some improvement we can think of in SH3. this simulator ALREADY does hell of a lot of calculations and it wouldn't be so much if the accuracy of the guns (in warship mod) is a bit little improved or a sense of fire control system is added to the game.

wheels, wheel stagger with rudder deflection of about 4-7 degrees and changing every second circle in the opposite direction
105 mm caliber bullet can cause big smoke and dust, so everyone destroyer can be sunk, just be madness in the blood and have fun :arrgh!:
when will be shown on the map destroyer admit to a distance of about 4,000 yards, and all the while exchanging artillery and UZO and shoot at a distance shown by the UZO, minus about half the length of the destroyer

i was sailing with the Bismarck in the British channel, it was sort of a channel dash (only in the opposite direction) and i was engaging multiple targets. things like armed trawlers and torpedo boats and they are all coming to me so gallantly. the AI gunnery on my ship was like embarrassing, something like 1 % of all the shells it was firing were making it to the target. i wished there was a way of controlling all the main battery turrets in a coordinated way, to make something like a real salvo, a meaningful way of straddling the enemy ships. i also wish there was a way for shifting target, the Weapon officer simply fires on whatever he feels like based on the range to target. the ship is under attack by a little happy destroyer fella and he is pouring fire on a nearby merchant :zzz:you guys have seen SOLDIERS HEROES OF WWII? have you noticed it's all open source and how straight forward the modding for those series of games is? i guess if ubiSOft had followed the same method for releasing SH3 things would have been much easier. (two absolutely unrelated issues i would think)
A few months ago I was able to play the Japanese battleship Nagato modification
what I noticed
it entirely disembarking (F12) and the commandment of artillery fire on each target to increase the AI, then as if the artillery officer shoots for every purpose better and faster
but I was not play too long
I have to ask you, can you tell me where is this mod to Bismarck?
I see, I compare, maybe combines something:)

yes is possible with SH4 with Uboatmission because Yamato is japanese - SH4 with latest patch with Yamato SpelerBar 1.45 - thats working :)

did you test Bismarck from than link? i can't access that link any longer, i don't know why. i was wondering if these is a mod for yamato in SH. do you have any link for yamato either in SH3 or SH4? thanks
I want to play with Bismarck in SH3 but the game still CrashToDesktop, so I said enought and I start to play with SH4 and two mods - USS Montana and for contrepart IJN Yamato

hi, yeah, i am also testing USS Montana, it's a very powerful ship, can shoot the hell out of any Japanese convoy or escort. but i have a problem, when i return to base and press DOCK==> END PATROL, the game (SH4) just hangs and becomes not responding:yawn: i have to end its process through Windows task manager. anybody has any idea?
by the way, why is the graphic so poor for the crew in SH4? they are 2 dimensional. it's a setback. and the watch officers keeps repeating the coordination of contacts like in an endless crazy loop. other than this SH4 is wonderful.
you start with JGSMe or withaut ??
it is pure, fresh instaled SH4 ??
it must be - in otherwise the game will end in either do not know how or do not start
after that, these are the only fashion that allow you to play SH4 without having JGSMe, do not change the files and you can play the normal missions without having to change anything:)
I still wonder how will look like the battles between IJN Yamato and USS Montana, or the IJN Kongo or IJN IJN Yamashiro:) but I will know:)
and yet USSN Skipjack mod also works, but in cooperation with JGSMe:)

You can try it again,this can happen,when Network Problems take place at the download.
If you download the File a second time from the Server and the same thing happens,then inform me and i will download the File by myself and take a look at it.
When the same issue happens to me,then i'll reupload the File again.

I've downloaded both Files of the WSM for SH3V1.4 and GWX 3.0 and checked them with 7zip and both Files are ok.
I used IE9 for the download and i don't know why you can't download them.

Ok I got the mod to work and I am playing it but when I am playing I am unable to look at my messages from command. I can view my objectives but not my messages. Is this a known issue or is it something on my end? Thanks for the Help :salute:

can anyone tell me how i can work with S3D? i was trying for like two days to change the turrets on the Bismarck using S3D, i just wanted to this to see how the game works and i opened every .sim, .dat, .dsd, .cam file with S3D and also tried .equip file with a text editor. i was trying to put the 28cm tripe turrets of the Scharnhorst on Bismarck with no success, can anyone tell me what i should do? any link to a tutorial on this issue? once more i am not trying to make a new mod out of an already existing mod. just want to learn the game file structures. thanks any body.:hmmm:

Ok, 2 days ago, i installed the warship 3.0 mod stock version of silent hunter 3 version 1.4b emea.
I had problems in the installation. I followed all the instructions that the manual has, step by step, and i didnt success with the implementation of the mod in the game.
Then, i think about "copy and paste" the files to the root folder. It installed without any problem.
Or at least, i was thinking that...
Armed with the Bismarck, i travelled over the seas, killing any ship i could have in range without any problem.
Then, boring of fighting small ships, i decided to generate a mission with a large fleet of warships. They were about 4 battleships and 10 destroyers. I wiped them out. Ouch, it was easy!
I tried again, but this time, i wanted to see how many time they spend to sink my ship, without firing my cannons.
1 minute...2 minutes.... 5 minutes.... 10 minutes (oh, am i still in the surface? )... 30 minutes (they painted my ship in black)....1 hour.... wtf???!!!! im in the surface alive!!!!???
Flack guns damaged, compresors destroyed, radio and radar destroyed, some men died... (they were in the flak guns), hitted by a million times but i was still alive. I could move my ship without any problem.
I ran onto the ships... i rushed destroyers like eggs colliding over them without problems and i hitted two battleships in the way (without sinking them).
Then, rushing a third battleship, when i hitted him, im destroyed by collision.
Finally... 1 hour and 15 minutes of battle.
One of two:
- Or im owning the new ultra super combat battleship, class "black pearl", forged by the goodness and manufacturated in Mordor...?
- Or the mod converted the enemy shells to paintball ammo? (and thats why my ship becomes black-painted...)
What´s your opinion? There is someone with the same "problem"? Someone knows how to fix the problem? Is it probably that when i play in multiplayer, i will become the new god of war in the sea and i will be banned forever (:damn:)?
What do you think?

Hi everybody!! first of all I want to thank Chinese U-47 for his time and his great work.
I've been playing the mod for two weeks (big fun!!), but i'm experiencing some problems (the biggest with the saved games) - I know there is too much work to be done, I apreciate the creator's dedication as well as te comunity common knowledge and willing to help.
For this i want to ask some questions about some issues whose response I couldn't find (or interpretate in the correct way) in the threads or dealing with the files myself...
I'm running WSM3.0 in Sh3GWX3.0 (actually GeII), my JSGME mods are installed in the following order:
GWX 16km atm.
GWX alternate loading screen
GWX capt. america's officer icons
GWX Main movie "Das Boot"
GWX Open hatch
GWX Litte harbour traffic
GWX Late war Sens., Snork.,Antenas
GWX Integrated orders
GWX No medals on crew
GWX VIIC'41 Player sub
GWX All weather guns
Real Deep Charge
GWX Alternative flotillas
WSM3.0
GeII
Ok,here are the questions:
1.- Am I missing something? I mean, Is my mod installation order adecuate? I also tried 'WB's mod for U-47s WSM (GWX 3.0)' but I didn't know how to apply this in the right way or the right order I supouse.. any recomendations?
2.- About SavedGames... Is there any solution at this point? I started a career with the Adm.Scheer in 1940 at Wilhelmshaven, after three patrols I decided to change base to Brest and the ship for the Prinz Eugen(by changing GeI for GeII while at base). The thing is that saved games worked fine before the changes. Now every time I load a game out in the sea it CDT,so... I know I'm not the only one with this problem but I hope someone there can make a useful reading of this short tale and throw some advices!(I'm tired of docking at neutral harbours or supply ships when I have to stop playing).
3.- Campaign: everything seems fine here since I know how to change the tipical patrol grid AM52 to something more realistic and exotic but I want to know if there is any kind of specific campaign for surface riders or any hint on how to make it more 'dangerous' (like the increase of the number and strenght of enemy taskforces and making them search for you like mad once they know you are operating in a given area)
4.-Optics: I've noticed that almost all of the flakgunner Point of View is way ahead of the crosshairs, is that for any reason?
Also the periscopes can't be used, I'm thinking it was done like that because of the 3d model but it would be great to have a rangefinding device.
If anyone can tell me if it is possible to have them back working propertly and how to add a compass to the MainGun sight optics I would be thankful!!!

well i'm such a a Nub... I was using Uzo but I didn't know you can have this function there... my bad,sorry. That's because I had never used it and I was encouraged by this mod and the long range battle chances it offers,thank you!

For example if I run across a taskforce I'm only getting actively attacked by it's escorts (destroyers). Although the bigger battleships & cruisers start firing at my position they keep cruising at same speed and course. So it's rather easy to stay away from them which is rather boring as the bigger enemy ships are the only real thread...
Would be interesting to know how to make them as aggressive as destroyers or corvettes... :)

...it depends on the attacking escorts equipment, if you combine the WSM with U-47`s Wolf Ocean mod, some of the attacking DD´s (and some planes) use torpedos against you (realy dangerous threats then).

I would also like to see proper instructions on how to use Wolf Ocean Mod 3.3 with the WSM 3.01 and 3.05. The instructions are in a funny coding that I cant read. Any help would be appreciated!!
the problem is that the man who makes a mods is Chinaman, creating mods in Chinese and then someone takes them for translation, translating unless using google translator

I'm sorry but how can you not understand GWX - WSH I understand that you can not understand - I was able to run ONCE Nagato and I must had to reinstall the entire SH III
I do not understand Chinese U43 - he writes of mods for the whole world (as far as it may be legal or illegal copies of SH III - the number may be a multi-million) and thinks that everyone will wonder what was written in chinese?
He writes to us in english, even better than me, but the mod does in chinese - I do not understand this - indeed hardly anyone understands Chinamens, but they themselves:hmmm:
I tried various ways to translate into my mother langue, but came out such nonsense, that I abandoned the idea
for GWX - I play the Gold Edition with no problems - now, after reinstalling the whole system and started playing again on my graphic changes and I have not any trouble, the game has become more stable, and I play on virtual MS on the Linux:smug:

Please help! first thing is I have IJN Japenese ships working but the main guns don't fire. What do i need to do?
Also I have downloaded all the WO 3.3 mods from B1 to B6-7 but excatally how do I install them? I have put them all into my mods folder and used JSGME to put them into the game but it keeps crashing, what am I doing wrong? needs an idiots guide guys.

And,well,you can't see ai,that's programs,I can't show you a picture of ai,as you may heard some players always like to laugh at ai,they think ai is stupid,fool,no match for human,sth like that.Well,unfortunately I believe ai,I believe a X4 CPU may defeat most of the human brains than opposite,what we need is only a better ai.And that become the point of my MOW mod.Until now,it seems I succeed,it successfully defeat all my friends.You can image,a ai that can contral dozens of tanks,and dozens of howitzers,and dozens of antitank cannon,and so on in the same time,choose best target for each one,detect threat for each one,figure out strategy order,attack your several postions with suitable troops......and almost make no mistake,that's it.
After this MOW mod end,I hope I can return to SH3 modification,I believe that's my duty which I haven't done yet.

I am very grateful for your hard work and admire your work the past few years and I never got bored and certainly not disappoint and the Chinese language is not a problem just use google language translator i find an answer file in the SH3 folder, and it can convert any of the you appreciate how hard at work on MOD.
I'm also wanted to build a ship in SH3 and studied modeling (Wings 3d) n but unfortunately did not work out for this even more now respects the work of Chinese U-47.

its nice but there is a little problem.....when you get the order to fire at will the crew wil fire at enemy ships.....and after that they keep shooting at your own fleet too!!!! is there a fix to this? please reply i have problem with some missions....

Have you changed the AI Cannons Max Error Angle? This is a must for this mod.
If you haven't, go to <WSM install directory>\data\Cfg and open the Sim file in Notepad. The second block of code there looks like this:
[AI Cannons]
Max error angle=40 ;[deg]
Max fire range=30000 ;[m]
Max fire wait=0 ;[s]
Change the max error angle to about 3. I find that this makes the AI ships' accuracy equivalent to my own crew's.
I was wondering why the RN couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. I just adjusted this and am looking forward to exchanging some shell fire.

SH3 WSH 3.0 is an amazing mod! I always play SH3 with WSM 3.0 activated... but I have problems with WSM 3.05 and WHS 3.1 IJN part... I found few links for them but when I download the installator, there is no english language. I don't know, what does it mean, it's even no chinese language. There are only some strange letters!!! So I cannot install WSM 3.05 or WSM 3.1 INN. Can anyone help me?

Hey I've been watching a couple videos of this mod, fantastic!!!
Not 100% sure though how it works. I have the download link on Silenthuntermods.com, but people seem to have a lot if trouble with it.
Is it career thing where it would work with SHC? I run GWX with SH3 at the moment- as well as ACM dark mods.
Someone posted about range bugs on the other site. Does everything work okay with GWX?

I play mostly Scharnhorst or Bismark in the GWX campaign! Can nothing say about the other ships!
I use the binocular, target an enemy ship and press "space"! Target locked and the canons begin to fire at that target! And finally the command "Stop fire"! Dont have problems with that except that the flak fires sometimes at friendly planes but you can stop it with "Stop fire"!

Small patch, which removes the swastikas from the deck and flag of the Deutschland, Scharnhorst and Bismark with permission from the author!
Perhaps useful for users in Germany to go trouble out of the way when you make vids or similar!
Activate the patch via JSGME after WSM3 and GeI! Tested with GWX but should also work in vanilla SH3 with WSM3!

The last patch didnt worked properly in the campaign!
I uploaded a new one which works much more reliable in the campaign and with all saved careers!

if all you have in Chinese then I recommend you do this pol menu is simple enough to uninstall all the fashion to go back up to the orginal version of SH3 and D:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\Data\Menu here to look for the file "en_menu" and and copy it to the installation of mods to choose the file you copied it and View stored and then View stored one who is in the Chinese version if you trade Chinese text on the eng.

Hello again...I know not to save mid patrol because the game crashes, but it crashes when I also load the auto save after returning to port. I'll go to the map, get my order, start, it will load for a while and then stop working. I can't wreak havoc on the Atlantic shipping lanes if I can't continue a career! :wah::/\\!!

Right, well I got it to work, the only downside is I had to get rid of GWX 3.0 which saddens me greatly. If anybody has any thoughts on how I can get them to coexist I would appreciate it. I am sure that subsim will not let me down :subsim:

What a shame none of us are able to get the upgrades, I loaded and just briefly tried the 3.0 version I liked it I would love to try the newer versions,one thing I don't understand is why the guy did not upload them here,he did the 3.0? someone that has them could put them on a disk and upload them here for us couldn't they?

But it seems to have a completely different campaign. With WSM activated all of the harbors are messed up (only showing Brest, Bergen, Kiel, and Wilhelmshaven) and Brest is broken (get stuck in sub pen upon spawning).
Is there any way to have GWXs campaign, but with warships? I went to Scapa Flow in september 1939 for example, and there were no capital ships (IE, royal oak) like in GWX. Also the campaign doesn't start on august 1st, it starts on september 1st like in vanilla. Also almost all of the GWX harbors aren't showing up. And, I can only select up to 1943 not 1945.

Warship Mod V3.0 on GWX 3.0 works flawlessly. Use JSGME to enable them. Choose only one folder at a time. Don't use all three simultaneously. Enemy planes, ASW, destroyers, frigates, and carriers are no match for the big two warships although HMS hood and HMS Nelson might give you a hard time. I came across these two in the north east and wow they're pretty tough but sinkable. HMS Hood sank while Nelson limped away while I'm stuck with a broken rudder and aflame. I had to do it all again.

I went to Scapa that early in a sub with a no extra mods play through of GWX3 and didn't find anything big either. Though I have no idea why you'd want to go into Scapa since the place is a death trap unless you've got the Bismark.

That's why I love this mod. Unlike other playable warship mods(looking at you SH4 warship mods) the ships in this one aren't invincible while they also don't explode the first time they get hit by a salvo from another BB.

Instead I then just put the GE files directly into the mods folder. IS this correct?
2. THe harbor names when I start a career do not make sense nor do they line up. When i try to start a game only kiel gives me a ship the rest Wilhemshaven and it says Brest but it just spawns me at Wilhemshaven give me u boats. Now the only ship I can get is the deutschland which is fine while I start but I really would rather start with the Bismarck. How can I fix this issue? Also the Deutschland spawns in with no guns and I cant figure out how to get the main battery to appear. Any help with this would be really appreciated. I really want to smash things with the Bismark. :D

1.) Extract everything.
2.) Install JSGME inside your SHIII folder.
3.) Start JSGME and create the "MODS" folder inside the SHIII folder.

5.) Open JSGME then activate GWX mods first then the "WSM3.0-GWX" mod.
6.) Close JSGME after "WSM3.0-GWX" install and open it again! Now you should see the GEI, GEII and GEIII folders and activate the one you like.
So to make GE folders visible you need to close and reopen JSGME after the WSM3.0 install.
At the end, it should look like this (dont care about the other mods just focus on GWX and WSM, i have an additional ammo mod for WSM activated):

1.) "WSM3.0GWX3.0" ist the moddifed version of the so called Warship Mod 3.0 which ONLY works with the supermod GWX3.0, download and install here: http://www.thegreywolves.com/downloads/
It will propaly crash your stock SHIII 1.4v version when you install it without installing GWX3.0 before (i gues it does but i nevers tryed it)
When you wanna play WSM3.0 without GWX3.0 you need to use the download for "WSM3.0 Standard SHIII v1.4".
2.) All Kaleuns should now, loading times always gets longer and longer depends on which mods you use, loading time for supermods like LSH5.1 ist about 5-10 min for me (at game start to menu and at real game start).
3.) The Modlist i posted is my personal tryout combination of mods that working with WSM and GWX without crashing the game, they are not included in the files above. Most of them are only sound or text mods because changing major files in a supermod most the time results in a crash and WSM with surface ships is very special here.
And rememeber, with WSM you can never save and reload a game, it will always crash, a bug ChineseU47 never found/fixed in the mod, so bring enough time for a patrol with you if you wanna play carer mode.

Yeah, I know it is the GWX version. Wouldn't be downloading it otherwise ;)
I've been lurking here for the longest time.
But the file inside has no indication of it saying it was for GWX3.0 whereas you have it say it is indeed the GWX version in the JSGME list. This confuses me the most.
My issue comes when I ctrl alt delete away from the window after 15 minutes of waiting and I have a popup waiting that's saying it has crashed.
I tried disabling all my mods through JSGME and it still keeps doing this.
Edit: After a completely fresh install of everything it works now.
But the file inside has no indication of it saying it was for GWX3.0 whereas you have it say it is indeed the GWX version in the JSGME list.

I figured out the issue. It was that I kept installing the game to my d drive instead of the C and GWX along with the warship mod were not able to read certain files. What I would like to do now is add more ammo to the guns of the Bismarck.Now I have looked at the basic.cfg files and I have not seen the stuff for the main battery listed. Is that because the game considers them the same as the regular deck gun? If someone is familiar with this and where to locate specifically the ammo amounts, I would be great full. I just need more shells cause the ai cant shoot for ****. haha

Thats an easy one..."basic.cfg" file is correct. Just make a copy of this file from the "GE" package you activatet and create a new folder which name you like, four example: "GEI_AMMO MOD" and use the original structure for the file which is: "FOLDER NAME" -> "data" -> "Cfg" and place the file basic.cfg here.
Now open it and search for this block:

Destroyer will be throwing depth charges only when you have a 32 bit system if you have a 64 bit system will have a very big problem because the system does not read bibloteki "DLL" in the modes, and the aircraft was working on it when I win xp but unfortunately now I have wine 8 and had to suspend work :(

Just reinstalled the Warship Expansion Pack for GWX 3.0. Got the main guns to work, but the secondary guns don't show up. Anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it? TIA for any help.

the only thing that makes me angry in the warship mod is when you have two red compartments is instant death aka mission failed:/ is there a way to fix this? i prefer a more realistic slowly sinking and after that lights out:D

You need 4 Gb of memory and a 4 GB patch to really be able to start playing SH3 with mods installed.

It should work fine for '39. I usually start with the Pocket battle ship. I find they have the best range and work best with supply ships.

EDIT: Disabling and Re-enabling the mod fixed it.
I'm having a problem with this mod for some reason. I am running GWX 3 with the GWX 3 version of this mod. The Deutschland Class sits lower in the water then it should and has no guns except for 2 single barrel AA guns on the deck. Scharnhorst and Bismarck just crash the game in attempting to load the game (the above issues were done in single missions). Also, in career for the U-boat modification thing it displays it as if it was the submarine instead of the ship it should be.

I recently got interested in the warship mod.... I got this baby to work... kinda... everything is great. textures, skins... except the ships load in with no weapons. and the battleships load inside structures... i am using the WSM3.0 with sh3 v1.4.... any suggestions?

It may be the case you have conflicting scripted layers but that would usually cause the installation to crash.
Try a fresh reinstalation.

Is it possible to get this mod to work in widescreen resolutions? The mod I was using in stock GWX for 1920x1080 does not work at all with this mod. Instant CTD the moment the game starts (ie when you start a save or a new patrol it crashes when attempting to display the models). It works for me without that mod, but I can't bring myself to play in a 4:3 box at the center of the monitor...

Hey guys, i'm relatively new here. a few of you may have seen like, one other post of mine...
Anyway, I love this mod, but my one complaint would be enemy a.i. accuracy.
Idk if it's a mod conflict, but even with an enemy right next to me, they aim both light MG's and full on main batteries either too high, too left, too right, or a combination of those. Would love to know if anyone else has experienced this, as, though it's only a minor annoyance, it feels cheap to sink an entire convoy with them getting maybe one hit off on me

i´ve just installed and make a Little test. I´m now adjusting starting points to make it works with st. nazaire and schluese.
In other way i want to adjust ammo for main batteries to have again AP shells, as GWX only gives HE.
So my question is:

I had problems with the ships guns but I managed it somehow..
However none of the save games work, I've tried different locations and versions.. No saving the game for me.. Instant crash. Is this a feature?
Also this mod is very crash prone, I encountered large task force and it crashed..! I did a few without crashing but.. that was the biggest so far.
And what really troubles me is that.. The planes.. In the vanilla or gwx3.. They just.. they don't do anything.. they just fly and circle around they don't bomb you or attack you.. They are not doing their thing.
PLEASE make this mod compatible with the living silent hunter 2015 it is perfect!! Is there any way to get the planes to work and actually attack you with bombs or even torpedoes with this mod??
And whats up with the save games.. How do I get them to work?

The save games whilst during patrols don't work but you need to dock and they will work. The wsm 3.0 is really nice except to the fact that enemy ships don't seem to be aiming at you they overshoot you most of the time.
Also I tried the 3.1 or 3.3 with japenese ships (all chinese letters phew)
Well my super yamato got owned by 3 old revenge class battleships..
The main cannons seem to be well.. the ammo disappears like if they shoot but nothing happens no blast, no actual tracers or anything..
Also when my bow section flooded the whole ship acted like if it was submarine. I was trying to repair that section most of my ship about 60% was way below the waterline the ship was clearly sunk the motors did not even work however I managed to stop the leaking and reversed speed full to backwards and the whole super yamato actually got back up from sinking like if it was a submarine.. I had to go backwards otherwise it would sink but ... really really lame experience..
I did the barham sceneratio with bismarck wsm 3.0 and bismarck just owned them easily hands down without even getting any damage.. oh well.. Just my insight on this.. :ping:

After searching some Chinese SH3-4-5 fan sites, here is the fix to the problem of failing to load a saved game for Chinese U47's Warship Mod. The problem may be the torpedo tubes configuration within Basic.cfg. The two downloadable fixes were made by someones at Chinese U47's workshop site several years ago.
For Warship Mod 3.0 for stock SH3 1.4b, simply download fix from this site (click on (33kb) button on upper right)& replace the old Basic.cfg.

I've run into the same problem of being unable to save with these ships. Could someone kindly repost the fixes given in this post? Or at least just the one for the GWX 3.0 version? They are no longer available at the links given. If thats not possible, could someone guide me how to fix it manually? Or does the method given here work for WSM 3.0 for GWX 3.0 as well?

I realize that. That is exactly what I did, but it still doesnt work. Whoever made these fixes doesnt seem to have bothered to test them first.
Messed around with the contents of the fix and it seemed to work when I started a career in 1939... until sometime in 1940 when my saves started crashing again. Inexplicably, starting a new career made no difference. The worst part is that its impossible to pinpoint what is causing the save to crash. Theres no error log or anything that could point to the culprit file, and the reason for the error seems to be randomized. For instance, I realized saving in the command room did the trick, but that inexplicably stopped working too.
Could someone kindly contact Chinese U-47 with this problem if possible? I feel he may be the only one who could solve it.

yaveton you must doing something wrong....i choose that carrier in happy times mission and i machinegunned all the ships :D they all destroyed with AA ammo!

I tried this mod a few minutes ago. Well, against ennemy battleships, it's not easy, because you just have a very bad precision with the guns for a target further than 10 km, whereas the ennemy has an excellent one. So, I die everytime. How would be possible to increase my precision ?

There is a file in cfg folder where you can find "max angle" set a lower value.

Thank you for the tip. I've made as you say, but I notice no difference. My crew is still noob with long range fire. Definitely, SH3 is not the proper game to play with a warship ! :roll::-? :hmph: But I like big battles between AI warships, it's nice to watch ! :cool: Are you writting some battle missions for SH3 ?

You have to consider that the experience of your crew makes the difference. However, from 18km, just few of hits have to hit the target. It is more realistic. In my mod each battle does not last less than an hour. If you see the screen I posted, you can notice that the battle start at 10.00 and after 50 min I was able to sink just a BB.
No, I'm not writing missions. As i told, I'm working on a warship mod, based on wac4.1. I made 80% but if I will not find a modder that helps me for a few things, it never will be released.

I'm working on a high polished Yamato. Do you want to make her a playable battleship ? I think you are the most competent here to do that ! :)

What I've done so far :
- reworked texture
- added a big flag and a smaller one with detailed textures
- improved and more historical anti-AA guns equipment
- corrected sim parameters for all the guns (historical parameters such as fire frequency, load time, speed of rotation/elevation)
- a new anti-AA shell with high power (fired from the main guns :))
- revised all the types zones, and added fire effects
What I'm planning to do:
- improve a bit the 3D model to correct some (small) mistakes
- add some japanese soldiers on the AA guns
- make the ship playable :up:
... and probably more ideas ! ...

Note, it is a rather plain thing, basically a disc with a texture on it. Also, I guess you need to re-size it; it was made for the Agano, a smaller vessel.

Here's a 3D version of the Imperial Seal of Japan, modelled after the drawing you linked at post #745 in this thread:

It comes in two version: the first version has ambient occlusion shadows mapped on the diffuse texture, which should make it to look sharper than it would with a simple diffuse texture, but its edges are not splitted; the second version in identical in size and shape, but it is both AO-mapped and edge splitted. That was done by splitting it automatically along its hard edges, using the Blender modifier recommended a while back by the_frog :up:
The second model should look better, but its vertex/poly count is higher. My suggestion is to try both versions and see how they look in game. If you can't spot any significant difference, just use the lower-poly version :03:
Both models are about 1 m in diameter. Again, a resizing by you might be required, and one last recommendation: the texture file provided includes an alpha channel to be used as specular mask. For better lighting effects, my recommendation is to enable it in seal's material, by adding to it the appropriate controller :salute:
