"Debating creationists on the topic of evolution is rather like trying to play chess with a pigeon — it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory."
Being a Christian, I find your statement offensive. I don't go around on public forums throwing my faith in peoples faces. This is a forum for a game sim, not a platform for posting one's religious or non-religious beliefs.

I would not have replied to him ether if I had seen his sig
But be careful as you maybe the one accused of trolling :nope:

No I think he has a fair point....it's his sig and nothing in it is inflammatory. he's highlighting his oppinion of debating with creationists, what's wrong with that ?

He doesn't mention anything about Christianity.....and, just so you know, most religions tend to shy away from evolution, somewhat stupidly considering the evidence is literally staring them in the face at the local zoo, but hey!

If you don't like what the member has in his signature, you can always use the ignore user option in your settings :yep:

Let's move on now and get back on topic.

Wait, I can't. I forgot, we're not supposed to feed the relatives. :hmmm: My bad.

I think you'll find Thomas that they are not relatives - this is a common missunderstanding about evolution. Humans and Chimpanzees are branches of evolutionary paths from the same root, in other words we share the same ancestors. So you could call us cousins, but not ancestors.

It's all pretty clear and easy to understand if you chose to read it. Of course, if you prefer to ignore the facts then that's fine too....it's your life.

We are so insignificant on the scale of all the accepted dimensions that it really doesn't matter a damn what any of us think....so you go ahead and think what you like.

As for me, I believe the world was created by a lesser spotted Amazonian Bull Frog called Colin and we were put on this earth to entertain him. Trouble is he's a tough blighter to find!

How come when I do watch shows on evolution, they always use phrases like 'Could have', 'May have', 'We think' and 'It's possible'? Those don't sound like facts to me. They sound like guesses.

As for me, I believe the world was createdThat's being inconsistent.

So you could call us cousins, but not ancestors.
I didn't say ancestors. I said relatives. Cousins are relatives.

so you go ahead and think what you likeThank you for your permission.

To be perfectly honest, the only way any of us will EVER know, is to die. Then all doubt will be removed. I choose to believe in a creator. And to me, that means GOD. Try reading the Bible. It's your life.

It takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe in a creator. You have your beliefs and I have mine. Why don't we just leave it at that?

Sail on, my brother. I hope all your torpedoes find their mark.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:you dont belive in evo. you accept it.
and it takes more ""faith"" ? wait.....it takes MORE faith to accept change over time than to BELIVE in an almighty invisible sky daddy ? ummm....riiight

Facts? How come when I do watch shows on evolution, they always use phrases like 'Could have', 'May have', 'We think' and 'It's possible'? Those don't sound like facts to me. They sound like guesses.Maybe you shouldn't acquire your knowledge by watching shows. Might I suggest you go to the library, rent a book on evolution and educate yourself.

That's being inconsistent.Err I don't think so my good man. The world was surely created from the chaos of energetic star dust, simples!

To be perfectly honest, the only way any of us will EVER know, is to die. Then all doubt will be removed. I choose to believe in a creator. And to me, that means GOD. Try reading the Bible. It's your life.
Why on earth would I want to read such an irrelevent and antiquated book full of fear mongering dogma yet claiming to be "the truth" - I can read Tatler or National Enquirer if i'm in need of such "truth". Religion is just a philosophy like any other, and a simple one at that. If people want to blindly follow something out of fear of not following it or because they might get a semi-detached and a microwave in heaven when they're dead then fine. As for me though, i'll be sipping Absinth and smoking Gitanes in the corner.

It takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe in a creator. You have your beliefs and I have mine. Why don't we just leave it at that?
That reminds me of some religious types that came badgering my door one day. When I mentioned Darwin and Evolution they replied "Our pastor told us god made the heaven and the earth!". I looked at her, waiting for more, and she, realising my expectancy, offered "Well isn't that easier to understand than all that evolution nonsense?".....Priceless!

Oh and if anyone is offended by the above.....then do as your good book advises ...FORGIVE ME!:arrgh!:

Whereabouts in Antarctica are you going ? Are you flying into Patriot Hills or McMurdo ? If you need any info or anything then just give me a shout ?

I'm speculating here but I think you might be going to see the penguin colonies and maybe scotts old hut....but then again, you could be climbing Mt Erebus, skiing the last degree or, heaven forbid, walking all the way to the pole.

Whatever it is I hope you get seduced by that great white place. And congrats on finding a soul mate.....love is good

Well, I don't know exactly til where I'll go... We decided to go as far as we mentally and phisically can, so maybe south pole, maybe just McMurdo... depends on the financial situation too, a trip there is not cheap. Expensive gear too.

But yes, we both love the white places, the cold temperature... we both agreed that between living forever in -10c or 40c, we would always choose -10. Heat just kills me. I would even pick -20 or -30 over 40.

Yes, love is a beautiful thing... quite easily changes you upside down.

Thanks mate, I'll keep your name in my list, any questions I know who to ask!
