captain needs help

i have lost the manual so i have to ask any captain, could you please help me with manual targeting.
i cant hit a barn door from about 2 metres, and cant figure out what i am doing wrong.

And the American targeting tutorials... since I use my WO to setup the shots I can be no help with the details of manual targeting.

Best I know there is not a manual targeting tutorial for the Uboat side... or at least I have not found it yet.

mainly my problem is ranging a shot.
i dont understand, does the double image pull down to the mast heads or the funnels. and what is the green line, is this what goes down to the mast heads?:damn::damn:

You pull the image down so that the line (and the waterline of the ship) are barely touching the tallest mast.
